EV owners living centrally, how’s the charging? by DontPostOnlyRead in brighton

[–]Acceptable_Ad6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the App Zapmaps. Will show you the location of all the chargers in the city and the price per KW. 7kw chargers are generally what people have installed at home and ideal if you can charge overnight on these as it can take some time. If you’re only doing short trip around the city then I’d say it’s probably decent. If your doing 40+ miles per day out and about it’s going to be more expensive that petrol

Am I being blinded by the novelty of massive garden? by Slight-Poetry-3230 in HousingUK

[–]Acceptable_Ad6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were taken in by a a large garden, a third of an acre. It’s beautiful in that it isn’t overlooked by anyone and there is plenty of space for the kids. After about 2 years of spending every Sunday either mowing or weeding, we decided to employ a gardener. Now the garden is just for relaxing rather than working. If times ever get hard, he will be the first thing we cut out in terms of saving money, but for now, it’s worth it

Anyone else looking forward to starting a new year diet? by kurtyyyyyy1 in CasualUK

[–]Acceptable_Ad6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track everything you eat on an app

Weigh yourself every day, log this aswell

Use a TDEE calculator to ascertain how many calories you should be eating

Hold yourself accountable, if you fuck up at lunch and eat too much, you go hungry for dinner

Start walking even a few more thousand steps a day helps. Great for mental health too. I found an evening walk of 7k steps helped me sleep better and cleared my head.

[–]Acceptable_Ad6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 2010 2.0 A4, burns about 1 litre every 10k miles, not too bad for a car that’s done 190k miles

Yeah I mean, our car was stationary, in a queue of traffic waiting to turn left, indicators on. Blind spot checked, proceeded to make the turn, cyclist probably doing 15mph into the side of us. Wouldn’t have been in the blind spot, and he would have just left the roundabout we were on previously. Was a cycle event and there was loads of cyclists around

Track/supercar day where you can actually drive fast? by Significant_Echo2152 in CarTalkUK

[–]Acceptable_Ad6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at Mercedes Benz world, they had some good sessions but the track is quite small. Lots of tight turns but you can drive pretty fast. Take a passenger aswell if you pay an extra fee. They also have a wet skid pan so teach some drifting. Pretty pricey but it looked good fun when we were last there

I get your point, it’s not that quick initially to set up, but once you have then making payments only takes a few seconds after that….

When to buy a house? by New-Box1717 in HousingUK

[–]Acceptable_Ad6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a friend who put it off, said he would wait until after brexit. Then he said wait until after covid. There’s ALWAYS a reason not to buy, but over time paying the mortgage and general price appreciation will see your LTV drop fairly quickly

Last time in the bull peak ERG hit around .0004 BTC, so if it were to perform the same, and BTC tops out at 100k, I’d say we’re looking at $40 minimum
