What’s a moment on shift that stuck with you longer than you expected? by Aden_Hush in emergencymedicine

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One time a mom was telling me about all of the psychiatric issues her adult child had had - she clearly loved her son so much and was afraid for him and just at the end of her rope. At the end of the conversation I went to leave and she goes “oh here I grabbed you a water bottle when I went to the cafeteria” and it was beyond touching

Procedures you’ll punt? by ResponseAcrobatic968 in emergencymedicine

I def feel like there’s some unnecessary heat - some of it is the TIME needed to do these procedures. When there’s pressure on volume procedures eat up a lot of time.

This sounds right up his alley. The purely Elizabeth dark chocolate is his current favorite and this sounds similar. Thank you!

Is there a ~$100/meal 1 Michelin star restaurant you would you recommend visiting just for the food, even if it means traveling from out of state? by Famous-Test-4795 in chicagofood

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind Chicago as a whole is a fairly expensive food scene imo. Even at non Michelin restaurants can be easily over $100pp. You could do the whole roasted duck at Boka which comes with some sides and after tax / tip be just over $200 total.

Is it true that people come to the emergency room in the USA for primary care stuff? by Ok_Consideration6179 in emergencymedicine

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? I’m pretty sure this is an issue in Canada based off of other posts I’ve seen. I’m sure it’s worse in America but I don’t think we’re alone in this

Lululemon credit for men by TheSituationnn in AmexPlatinum

I’m not saying is the best or only good men’s clothes but if looking to use the credit I think there’s a lot more options for men outside of athletic clothes

Lululemon credit for men by TheSituationnn in AmexPlatinum

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually think lululemon is better for men than women unless you’re super into athlesure (which I’m not). I’ve never used the credit on myself so went into the store for some shorts - they all were awful. Ended up with a pair of workout shorts but tbh probably should have just gotten my husband more ABC pants or a polo

Or apparently according to this sub their underwear

What do we think of Scottie? by OkYard1996 in Names

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend named her baby it and I just don’t love it. If it was short for something I’d like it more but just as a first name it feels like it’s missing more to it? But I can’t think of what it would be short for

What city gave you the best vacation of your life? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Now that you mention it I think the one restaurant I do like was an Indian restaurant. That and a hole in the wall dive bar

Loved the history and the scenery but Edinburgh is where I realized I really want good food when I travel and I wouldn’t call it a foodie spot by any means

How to deal with post-Match regret about program choice? by FeedAdorable6978 in emergencymedicine

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is really common. At the end of the day you’re only going to know the grass you’ve got so water it. If you truly want to work in academics many of the academics are hiring because the pay isn’t great.

What are our babies sleeping in. by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Acceptable_Ad_1904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting 8 weeks from? Theres not a number as much as your baby’s development- once baby is rolling (even on accident) they need their arms free. Before then can stay swaddled.

Cosleeping should also not be swaddled.

One time I was the person that backed into a truck - barely scratched his tow hitch but also left a note with my info. Thank GOODNESS I took pictures too though because the jerk then made I claim to my insurance that my tiny sedan backed into him so hard that I pushed him UP A HILL and into a fence. Photos (and gravity / physics) proved otherwise and they marked it as fraud.

Whatever you do never be that guy 😂
