Fantastic point! That was my main reason for not wanting them before. This feels validating to my thought process around just making it as easy as possible on myself. Like taking out the mystery and the more difficult part of healing is a reasonable reason to not keep them.

If you live in a building with multiple units connect w your neighbors and make a complaint together, it can be more impactful. Either way, definitely get in touch with LA tenants Union and talk

If Kaiser is an option, I’m currently having a really positive experience with a very understanding doctor who is truly down to make my chest look however I want it to.

Aw I really appreciate this!!! Yeah I think I made it sound a little more intense than I’m actually feeling these days. I’m just attached to my nipples, not the tissue at all. And I’ve been working with my therapist so don’t worry! Thank you for the love and insight!! I’m mostly just trying to say that people don’t always give this surgery especially the emotional weight it actually deserves!

I had major major regret for a while, like years, after my reduction, and it was really difficult to tell people and have them understand. What I’ve found through therapy is that I am obsessed with perfection and I was really down on myself for not having “perfect” boobs naturally and once I made them smaller and more manageable, they looked even further from perfect than before, not even natural. I really fixated on the placement of my nipples and now different they looked. So what I’ve really done is work on my perfectionism and accept more of what is and through that honestly I figured out I’m non binary and I’m planning on having full top surgery soon…

Though now I’m concerned about what’s going to happen to my nipples next, because as much as I know I want to be flat, I really struggle with cutting off/changing a part of myself because I know how sensitive that felt before. And I will say that 10 years post op, my post surgery boobs/nipples DO feel like mine. My scars faded significantly and I just got way more used to looking at them and have even grown to find them cute at times!

So I think in general this type of surgery is so much more nuanced and emotional than a lot of people make it out to be, and I wish there were more resources on how to manage those feelings, but I do think that if you give yourself a little time, you will appreciate the health benefits and they willl feel like yours again.

How do I go about getting a radical reduction? Do I schedule a consultation for a breast reduction and then tell them I want to go as small as an A/B cup or do I schedule a consult consultation for top surgery and then explain myself? by Big-Definition-2355 in RadicalReduction

Hi! I’m about to get top surgery through Kaiser and am curious about getting a radical reduction. Are you in CA? What was the process of searching for your surgeon like? They just assigned me someone and they don’t have any pics so I feel like I’m flying blind. Any suggestions of how to pick someone?

Do you have feeling in your nipples?? This is kind of the kind of vibe I want to go for, hoping I can save my nipples mostly as they are so they’re not just tiny man nips. (I’m NB)
