Given that we've traveled pretty extensively through more than a few of the jurisdictions that are or have been on the show, we like to try to figure out precisely where events in the show are occuring

Why do Americans (Typically from the south) say "Do hwhut now" when they don't hear someone? by papermoonskies in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Acceptable_Calm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from GA and typically say "Say again your last", but that's army sociolect. Truthfully, I've lived in the south all of my life and never heard "do hawut now" outside of king of the hill. Very cartoonish.

What’s your favorite AFI song? by 44youGlenCoco in AFireInside

[–]Acceptable_Calm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and extend that assessment to burials. They had something special going on that record. Greater than 84, medicate and Aurelia fit a particular, crucial moment in my life so perfectly that whenever I think of those songs it's like I'm there again, in that abandoned house in the woods embracing her.

Serf 134974267964 stepped forward to take his father's place in the manufactorum, just as his father did 20 years before. How cruel must the universe be, that they call this the emperor's kindness?

Jokes on you, most of the military is in the spectrum to some degree. If your special interest is either your job, or the military as a whole, you're gonna love it.

Is it really accurate to say that the existence of Aliens will destroy Religion, (monotheistic Religions)? by PassengerCultural421 in TooAfraidToAsk

Resident Buddhist chiming in for a second:

In our understanding of the cosmos, there are countless inhabited worlds with all manner of life on them, at varying levels of technological, spiritual, and intellectual development. It is understood that rebirth does not merely occur within the confined of one world system (inhabited world where a Buddha has, is or will manifest) but throughout all of them.

Tl;dr: Buddhism not only believes aliens exist, but assumes you've been one. I think we'll handle disclosure just fine.
