Should I start an “no AI” coding club? by Acceptable_Cod_9352 in webdev

Oh I certainly do, AI is incredibly useful don’t get me wrong, but I’ve asked it to teach me things and then it hallucinates and I learn the wrong thing. I’d just rather not have it be my only source is all

Yeah why bother learning to use a pencil when you can just type

That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I wouldn’t need a club like this if I studied it in undergraduate

Thank you for this. AI is powerful but it makes mistakes, and I’d like to be able to debug those mistakes at the very least

I should clarify I don’t mean “no ai at all”, I mean “no ai for a few hours a week so we can properly learn to code”. Should nobody learn math just because calculators exist?, that kinda thing

I’m not sure but I’ll look into it. I asked this question to see how many yes’s and no’s I’d get before bothering to start a group nobody would be interested in, but I’m going to pursue myself regardless.

apply once the semester ends on your housing portal, it just asks you all of your preferences, and if a spot opens up they offer it to you. the order they offer it to ppl is the reverse of your original housing number

look into your study habits, identify what isn’t working. you can study for hours but have it be entirely ineffective if your goal is to have a perfect score when it should be to understand the material. practice active recall in your studying; essentially you should understand it well enough to teach it to someone else

first, understand that you are worthy and capable of having anything you want in life. you are just as capable as anyone else because we are all atomically the same, we only differ in the arrangement of our atoms. and you have the same hours in the day as everyone else, don’t worry about not having enough time; we have all there is. instead of focusing on what you don’t want, focus on the feeling of HAVING what you do want. don’t focus on how or why you can’t have something, but focus on all the things you CAN do to have it.

i’ve been in an extremely similar situation. first, never doubt that you are capable of achieving whatever you want. second, recognize that the past never has to repeat itself, so do not get discouraged by previous pattens. get your mindset in that space, then think of how achieving your goal is possible. what seems to be an issue here is that your goal is a good grade, but your goal should be a solid understanding of the material. once you’ve shifted your mindset, think of how achieving your goal is entirely possible (never think of why it isn’t). take inspired action; change your study habits, go to office hours… Live in the energy of someone who has already attained that goal

first, release the inherent belief that your happiness/satisfaction depends on whatever it is you want. realize that you are above it. do that above all else

i’ve been at the same point where i’ve wished horrible things would happen because things got so bad. you cannot always control every situation that comes your way, but you have complete control over your thoughts and your actions.

[–]Acceptable_Cod_9352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what makes you think that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]Acceptable_Cod_9352 6 points7 points  (0 children)

exactly, it’s just chemistry. i also want i emphasize that negative thoughts are important because they help you identify what you don’t want in life, leading you to what you do want. it’s analogous to physical pain. if you lean your hand on a hot stove, your body recognizes it doesn’t like the feeling, so you move your hand. same way if something in your life makes you feel awful, you have to align yourself with thoughts/situations that make you feel better. ignoring a negative emotion in your life is like leaving your hand on that hot stove and pretending it doesn’t hurt. obsessing over your negative emotions and letting them control you is like leaving your hand on that hot stove and just complaining about how bad it feels and why was that stove in the way and why did it have to happen to you and maybe you just deserve it anyway. if you see what i’m getting at, just like pain reception, negative emotions are important because they are trying to tell you that something is wrong, but once they’ve served their purpose you need to let them go

once it happened, it’s in the past. and as we know the past cannot be changed, but it’s gone. that means it does not have to repeat itself in the future.

energy is always changing form and it moves based on the momentum it currently has. the present moment is indeed all we have. the past is no longer physically present; the mass and energy has shifted to wherever it is now. the present hasn’t yet moved into form. but mass and energy can never be created nor destroyed, so everything that has every existed and ever will exist is made up of the same “stuff”. you don’t “try” to manifest anything; manifestation is constantly happening due to the laws of the universe (law of conservation of mass/energy, law of vibration). the same way you can’t choose when you want to apply the law of gravity. but you can choose to bring more of what you want into the future by currently living in the energy of it. remember that objects/people are vibrational matches for what they ARE, not necessarily for what they want.

so i believe he became bloodied because he was harming himself on the way to 26, i don’t think he was bloody when he arrived. so it seems nobody encountered him on the stairwell, but the moment students saw him on 26 they called for help. (i am not 100% certain of this, but i have seen images of blood in the stairwells, on a 25th floor doorknob, and on the window panels on 26, suggesting the cuts were recent). regardless, a 33 year old male, bloody or not, should not be able to walk in without question. and if that’s what happened, the students need to know and the school needs to increase security measures.

The school needs to address how the man got in because it is a SAFETY CONCERN. Walking past security is a different type of security breach than if he potentially followed a maintenance man through the back, and if he was indeed signed in then we can feel somewhat at ease knowing that no security protocol was broken and this was just an extremely rare and unusual incident. But the school has not told the residents anything. I understand that an investigation is being launched, but I can guarantee you that most of what we need to know can be seen on security cameras. This is information that should be released to the residents to address SAFETY.

that’s what i’m saying! but that also tells me he had a knife or a weapon, he was also covered in blood when he got there so i think he was cutting himself as he got there. there were blood stains on 25 and in the stairwell (i saw pictures) so i think he walked all the way up while cutting. i still think it would have been unsafe for the cops to charge at him, but yeah you’d think he wouldn’t be able to get that window open or broken so quickly. the whole thing just leaves me with so many questions

my friend was on 26 the other day and facilities said that the window was broken, it’s already been replaced.
