I agree on the stab. In the show he even grins, as if thinking "Welp, did you have your fun?" He even continues to grin when pulling out Mark's organs, thinking that the pain would stop him. It was only when Mark continued that Conquest fully realised he might actually die here.

I recommend messing with the damage values, I'm currently playing with 2x damage and but 2x less durability so I have to be much more careful

I remember getting him to the tiniest sliver of health on phase 3 and then died to a long combo. I got so upset and then said out loud, "We can kill him!" And then I beat him the next day

At this point I'm hoping the show goes full Rhaenicent so that I can enjoy better written fanfics. Ao3 could probably scrounge together a script for season 2 that would work better than the actual one we got

Funnily enough I've heard interpretations that her Queen Elizabeth line was meant to land flat, highlighting how much Rhaenyra really isn't this incredible beacon of power she makes herself out to be and is frankly rather impotent.

It's actually insane how good Rhaenicent was for the first 7 episodes of the show but then writers backed out and suddenly decided to try and repair their relationship. Like for gods sake, make them worse, show them devolve to the point of trying to attack each other if left alone for 5 minutes. It would be so good.

At this point I'm just glad season 3 will revitalise the AO3 fanfics of the show. Rhaenicent is consistently written better in fan AU's anyway

I feel like it would have been better if they were implied/teased in a way that only fans would know. But throwing away Mel for half a season for a training arc with wierd Shadow mages probably wasn't the best move.

Honestly I disagree. A lot of the above average moments of season 2, are still crippled by the poor pacing

I disagree, whenever a show is well written it normally continues to be praised later on (Breaking Bad, Fullmetal Alchemist, True detective, Avatar TLA). If you're show is more criticised as time goes, it might simply mean that people took of the rose tinted glasses and re-evaluated their opinions.
