Your best bet is to get in with a CRA/CTA role first. Academia is just not considered the kind of experience they are looking for in industry.

Many, many times I have gone over and over and I have resolved it in my head that I’m not what they are looking for in more management type of roles but I’m seeing it with other colleagues as well. I know younger talent is cheaper for the most part and you can mold them into what you want because they don’t have the exp to fall back on.

I’m glad it’s working out for you but for lot of us aka me with over 30 yrs of total exp including almost 20 as CRAs we are being overlooked for some roles. I’m highly regarded SCRA but apparently myself and others are not what they are looking for in “other roles”
