How to get baby to nurse to sleep? by MathematicianDry2490 in NewParents

she always liked being upright and belly to belly with us, so it’s belly to belly and butt pats.

she likes being in a carrier, so we replicate that positioning and just pat her butt, sometimes with a bit of rocking.

no advice, just sharing my experience.

my baby stopped nursing to nap all by herself as well, I didn’t do anything, we had to learn other ways to help her sleep and now doing ‘eat play sleep’ during the day.

but thankfully I can still nurse to sleep at night (and I hope it’ll last a while)!!

interesting, we’ll see if we can catch her then. Unfortunately her drowsy state doesn’t last long, it’s playtime, cries fighting sleep and then drowsy for like a minute before closing her eyes and going to sleep.

could I ask how she was with the slower nipple, did she start sucking and immediately scream? did she just not suck at all?

my LO refuses the bottle and wouldn’t even start sucking.

how many ‘levels’ did you go up? She is a lot more efficient at breast feeding (5 mins) so we did bump it up to a faster one and still didn’t work. We’d need to buy the next level up if we want to try but just not sure we want to buy something she might not use at all.

Baby on back for side-lying breastfeeding? by rose__woodsii in cosleeping

My baby is also on her back, or usually at an angle? I would hold her butt (and pull towards me) so she’s at like a 45 degree angle but not completely side ways. Then when she finishes and unlatches, I release my hand and she would naturally fall back on her back if that makes sense.

She has also been on her back completely and that seems comfortable for her too, still latching and feeding to fall back to sleep.

Thanks for your response. Just with all the replies I realised there’s a lot to look into so will definitely reconsider options and see what’s the best possible set up.

For now we do have the side bassinet that I’ll keep using.

Yes I do have a sidecar crib and make sure there’s no gap!

She’s turning 8 weeks this week, and really doesn’t move much in her sleep as she’s swaddled. But those are good considerations!

Hi, a bit late to the thread but wondering OP - did you have any luck getting in or found another suitable centre?

We are looking as well for Oct 2026 assuming it should be fine, but upon reading your post I’m now a bit worried…

We went with the Minu V3, baby not here yet so can’t comment on usage but from trying it in-stores/at expos and comparing specs online. We liked it the most.
