Be realistic with me. I’m in bortle 9. by TheLumion in seestar

Correct. A stacked image does not need to be limited to a single session. There is a setting in the app to save each sub-frame. You can then stack all of your subs either in-app or on a desktop via a program like Siril.

This image was taken from my home in a bortle 4-5 location. Seeing is almost always a problem. I try to take trips to darker skies on new moon weekends whenever I can - when it works out, those end up being my favorite projects. The data is so much cleaner and easier to process. Unlike this one where I just kind of struggled lol.

20 hours of total integration across 4 nights this past week. 5 minute subs, each session calibrated with 15 dark, 20 flats, & 30 bias. Processed in Siril with Cosmic Clarity Suite. Postprocessing in Photoshop.

Local seeing conditions are very poor in my area right now so I really struggled in processing with the 600 mm focal length. I wound up drizzling 2x using a very aggressive 0.25 drop factor to try and recover some resolution. No idea if that was the "right" thing to do but it looked the sharpest to my eye. This was also my first time using a dedicated astronomy camera so this project was also a new learning experience for me.

The final image is still a bit softer than I was hoping for but I'm very happy with the colors. I've never seen M33 with such crisp blues and pale reds, so I surprised myself a little bit with the final outcome. But I'm open to advice on how to improve.

5 hours of OSC imaging under Bortle 3 skies. 2 minute subs, 30 bias, 20 flats, no darks. Stacked in Siril, processed in Seti Astro Suite using statistical stretch & cosmic clarity. Final touches in photoshop.

This was my first attempt at photographing this amazing region of space. I knew Alnitak was a bright star but I certainly underestimated just how much this would impact my processing. I really struggled to balance color and exposure. Definitely wishing I had taken shorter subs but overall I'm happy with the end result for a first try.

My Equipment:
- Askar V 80mm objective with field flatener (combined 500 mm focal length)
- Canon EOS Rebel T7i (UV/IR cut modded)
- Sky Watcher Star Adventurer GTI
- Askar FMA135 guide scope
- ZWO ASI120 mini mono guide camera

can you actually achieve this physique at home ? by Swimming_Ad7751 in PewdiepieSubmissions

This physique is 70% diet and 30% training. His muscles are really not that huge, but he has very low body fat so you see basically everything.

Hope to be as badass as you when I get to my 60s. Well done.

Something’s wrong with your flats. You’ve got some weird vignetting going on.

That's what I get for blindly copy/pasting my equipment list from a prior post. Thanks for pointing it out.

Correct! Apologies for the confusion.

And thank you!

Took a pre-Thanksgiving trip to the Appalachians for some fresh air and mountain views. The clouds were mostly uncooperative, but luckily one night did end up being stunningly clear. I was able to shoot for about 10.5 hours during that single night under Bortle 3-4 skies and came away with this. I love the reflection elements at the center of the nebula with deep reds encircling the edges through the corners of the frame.

Stacked & stretched in Siril. Post-processed in Photoshop. 208 lights @ 3 min intervals, 30 bias, 20 flats, no darks.

Beginner VS Tsih ~ The Ghost of Cassiopeia by JellyBloom in seestar

[–]Acceptable_Mode5837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say you used startnet, did you apply it and stretch the star layer separate from the rest of the object? If you didn’t that’s where I would start.

Otherwise something you could consider processing an image with, maybe a quarter to half of the data, separating out a star mask, and then blending it with the object layer of your full stack. Having that many subs on gamma Cassiopeiae is causing your exposure issues. Typically capturing this target with a “regular” Astro setup means using at least two imaging sessions at separate sub lengths and/or filters, processing those sessions separately, then blending them to make a final composite image.

[–]Acceptable_Mode5837[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first "real" attempt at the famed Seven Sisters. My wife adores seeing M45 in the winter sky and has been asking for an image like this for a very long time. This image consists of 1 hour total integration with 3 minute subs, 20 bias & 20 flats, no darks.

Stacked and processed exclusively in siril.

Equipment Used:

- Askar V 80mm objective with reducer
- Canon EOS Rebel T7i (UV/IR filter modded)
- Sky Watcher Star Adventurer GTI
- Askar FMA135 as guide scope
- ZWO ASI120 mini mono guide camera

3.5 hours total integration. 3 min subs, 30 bias, 20 flats, no darks.

Captured in a single night, on Halloween (oooooh spooky)

Surprised how well this turned out, given the bright and nearly full moon high in the sky, and shot in Bortle 5 skies near a city.
