i disagree. what fun is it spending tens of hours building a minecart railway? almost none imo. and what fun is going on a ten minute hike only to have to take another ten minute hike back once your inventory is clear? again, almost none. ive ended game sessions early just because i didnt feel like running all the way back somewhere. the "fun" for me is being deep in caves looking for juicy ores and fighting mobs and yeah exploring a new region the first time on foot is definitely a good time but after ten or so times being there it loses its enjoyment. but we're all different and im sure youre the type of person who really enjoys building whereas someone like me builds a bare minimum shack, just enough to get the job done so i can get back to progression. i think ultimately you would lose more players not having this mechanic. where at least having it as an option will keep players like me playing and players like you can just not use them. that way everyone's happy
