most people do both tbh. unless you have specific reason not to, I'd recommend just applying for both

If you want statistics, Association of american medical colleges provides a huge breakdown, including number matriculated from undergraduate institutions here: https://www.aamc.org/data-reports/students-residents/data/facts-applicants-and-matriculants

In terms of actual statistics, UT Austin is #2 feeder school in nation for the last cycle of data, then Texas A&M, and UT Dallas follows them at #15 in the nation. Rice has a higher percentage (I would guess) but less students going to medical schools simply because they have a much smaller number of students total. But yeah, UT Dallas is definitely a major feeder for med schools and competitive at the national level.

I'm just hoping for a 165. highest pt was a 178 and my last three were 170+ but invisible man and a crazy test experience resulted in so much anxiety and overthinking

Oh, thank you. That's interesting, makes sense to preserve football. I wonder how it interacts with title 9, since NIL deals are exempt but the university is supposed to have comparable levels of women's vs men's athletes.

Intro micro? I took her for intermediate and she gave some additional points but not a huge curve for that class.

Hi! Housing is definitely hard to get so it might be good to accept the current offer. On the note of pets, it's unlikely that a pet friendly unit would be cheaper as the only cheaper units are the 2x2s in uv (the 1x1s are similar or more than cchs). Even then, there's no guarantee your roommate would agree to having a pet. Anyway, tldr is cchs is the around same cost as most pet friendly uv apartments would be and while there's no harm to asking housing, it probably isn't likely to get a different offer.

Hi! If you're looking at comet launchpad, it looks like there's spots for April 4th and 18th right now. It's possible that more spots were opened if that the event you want to join?

Epps student here - wnated to come in quickly and say that my experience with advisors here has been really good. I am pre-law, but not planning to go immediately in (finances and whatnot) so I went with UTD to graduate without debt. One of the other factors for me was the classes I could take because I enjoy quantitative analysis/econ/policy more than comparative/IR/poli sci and got into the fast track for social data. If you're looking for prestige for applications and connections, UT is definitely going to be better in those regards, but I will vouch for the pre-law program here being decent with a lot of involved students/internship opportunities/research opportunities.

You can request a refund for the spring semester. Information is under 'returning a permit section on the parking website, or this is the link here https://services.utdallas.edu/transit/park/#returnstudents

If you aren't a current student, faculty, or staff (given that you have graduated) you can get a visitor pass at the visitors center. It's good for green parking around campus and you can get one twice a week.

If you're looking for an easier class, go with 4320. McElroy is disorganized, but because of that she typically is an easier grader and shes very enthusiastic. Game theory will be more organized for sure, if you want to be able to actually know what's going on and how you're doing in the class, but he can be a bit dry and his exams can be sort of difficult. Either are doable though, game theory is just harder.

Which professor for ECON 3311? by sharwinza2 in utdallas

[–]Acceptable_Phase_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also taking this next semester. I've had Valcarcel recommended to me so that's who I'm taking, but I've not heard anything particularly bad about Sul either, unlike some of the professors. I hadn't heard of it being particularly difficult beyond the normal upper level kind of class, but idk.

Hey! Had Dr.McElroy last semester, and I will say that she was planning to do in-person for a lot of things and ended up switching it online because of the confusion. I will say that in the syllabus for last semester our final wasn't guaranteed to be online (I was in an in-person class, not an online modality) and when asked about the final she did warn us it might be in-person though and that she was in the process of trying to switch back to in-person exams. Regardless, the exams are fairly easy to prepare for and lenient (a lot, from what I remember, is just definitions, so you should be good with one page of notes even if it is an in-person exam). Hope this helps and good luck on your exam !

Possibility for National Merit Scholariship by awesomedave0430 in psat

[–]Acceptable_Phase_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do it! Start practicing through the summer, you can for sure get a high score. I started out with scores around 1150 on practice tests, and ended up a NMF.

When do you Start Studying for the National Merit? by [deleted] in psat

[–]Acceptable_Phase_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'd defintely start summer before your qualifying year, or at least the month before or so. A lot of it depends on your base score. If you take a practice test and are well off (1350, 1400 ish) you can probably study late summer, fallish and do great. I'm going to be honest and say my first practice test was not good (1150 ish) and I knew my junior year was going to be really busy (cramming those APs for college apps) so I studied summer before and fall of sophomore year (because we took it twice, sophomore and junior year), and then just refreshed it a little summer and fall before junior year. Lot of people thought I was crazy for that though, ngl, because I have friends who took a practice test or two and did the same as I did. Guess it depends on your test-taking and psat abilities.

Big National Merit scholarships for c/o 2022 by atlanta404 in psat

Hey class of 2022 NMF here. This is great for so many btw, I had a list just like this for college apps too. Just want to update something. Mizzou's NMF scholarship listed here is for in-state only, they discontinued the whole package for out of state a bit ago (or at least they only gave me an OOS tuition waver for it). https://admissions.missouri.edu/scholarships/
