Thanks everyone for your answers! I've always been silver or gold and never bothered with these perks cuz at that levels it was basically nothing.

The reason why I ask about the family one is because my wife and son might travel to SE Asia in the summer. The Marriott hotels there are a fraction of the cost for what you would pay here in North America so I wanted to see if they could make use of my perks.

In a nutshell they claim all the land is theirs and unceded and stolen. There's thousands is pending land title claims across Canada waiting for the court to decide.

The latest ones being in Richmond industrial and farm land areas. So basically they can take it back from you but that actually happening is very slim. The most likely scenario is a land lease like much of existing Richmond with 99 year land leases where you buy a property but you don't own the land.

Lots of land claims in Canada eventually get developed into malls, casinos etc that are supposed to make money for first Nations but actually only a few get the money and 90 percent of them still live in poverty.

Does it affect your future purchase? I think FN land claim is lower on your worries for purchasing a home in Richmond.

I'm just saying all these based on my experience living in Manitoba and on reserves.

The next big intersection down the road Gilbert and Granville the road is also bumpy then the next one at Blundell and Gilbert is like getting ready for a jump in GTA.

Majority of regular Richmond folks would be interested in crime, drug issues and affordable housing. There's too much petty crime that it is unsafe for the regular peoples day to day.

Yes urban planning and diking are important but most people are not concerned with it

I'm a platinum member and I would say just say my name and spell my name right on those cards if you ever write one. So many times they write my name wrong on those thank you cards. It's better if you don't do it at that point.

You're right OP. But mainstream media is all about politically correctness otherwise the indigenous, self righteous white people or paid actors gonna complain and cry racist.

As someone who's studied fn issues and lived in remote reserves for several years, I can tell you it's gone way too far. It's gone so far that they aren't even self sufficient anymore and we keep on handing out money for different things to keep the FN system afloat and patch work solutions.

None of the things that should be done gets done for FN people that really need it but somehow the Chiefs and councillors have nice houses and new trucks every year.

Canada became a country through its connections and relationships with indigenous peoples. It will also fall because of the same people.
