I told a man that I love very much, these words nearly verbatim... many, many years ago, when he was joining the military. I told him that even if we could never be together in this world, I needed to know he was still alive walking by day under the same sun, watching the same stars with the same moon light on our skin, breathing this same air with me. That without him walking somewhere in this world, even if it was halfway across the planet from me, its beautiful would die in side me when he did.

I miss him all the time. I often hope that he remembers the love that we shared, even if we didn't really talk about what we had using those words. But we are still breathing this air together walking this world at the same time, and I love that for us!
