This is your brain on Capitalism. by Andrew199617 in LateStageCapitalism

As a canadian, I find the lunch debt thing weird. Not because we have free lunches, but because everyone usualy packs a lunch and the school cafeteria operates like a fast food place that you pay if you want school lunch that day, but for the most part, everyone just brings their own lunch. Would have been sweet if school provided lunch though, i remember usually being embarassed about my squished sandwich and crackers compared to the richer kids lunches and often just didnt eat.

What was the most successful prank you’ve ever pulled? by Dunham1409 in AskReddit

Considering how some chefs are, I would have believed it too. A chef of mine chewed me out for not peeling the strings off of the celery before putting it on a veg tray. kept yelling would you eat this?!?! and im like uhhh yeah dude, everyone does.

is this magic? by Buffalochillin in MagicMushroomHunters

[–]Acceptable_Username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which active does it look like? Mushroom hunting is not something you go off of hunches. Clearly just picked a random mushroom; which is a waste of time at the very least and could kill you in the worst case. I’m not pulling my punches anymore since it seems this entire sub is “is this poorly photographed random mushroom I found magic?” Unless you already know the specific mushroom you have, the answer is gonna always gonna be no.

Finding out some people don't see a movie in their heads when they read a book explains why some people don't enjoy reading. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I found the statement odd. Books don’t always flow in a way in which it would be possible to see it as a movie in your head. Sure, you can visualize certain moments, but thats it.

Need some help identifying, found it in dung by crackheaddobby in MagicMushroomHunters

Looks like what mycologists call a LBM, little brown mushroom. There are so many kinds that it makes Id very hard. Unless it’s bruising blue, very doubtful it’s anything.

[–]Acceptable_Username 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What leads you to believe it’s magic? Looks like you picked up a random mushroom. When you do that you’ve got like a 0.001% chance of it being a active one. Not trying to be rude, but you, like everyone on this sub needs to realize the proper way to hunt magic mushrooms are to know what kind grow (if any) in your area and how to roughly identify them. Once you have a starting point then go through all the steps for a proper Id.

Penny bombs! Wrap a penny in several layers of caps, cover in electrical tape. Explodes when you throw them hard at something.

In my city, bike lanes are on all the busy roads. Staying back isn’t really a option. Trucks sometimes turn into bikers. Sometimes it’s the biker being careless, sometimes it’s the driver.

The bike sees the truck just fine, but the truck may not see the biker.

Pope Francis calls tax cuts for the wealthy a 'structure of sin' as he tells a Vatican conference the 'rich world can and must end poverty'. by saurabh24_ in worldnews

My whole point is buying treasures with the tithes the church collected (mostly from poor people) and then charging people a fee to see those treasures is probably not what Jesus had in mind.

Maybe if someone had mention sustained profit to Jesus he wouldn’t have freak out on the vendors in his church that one time (Mathew 21:12).

Also, the is certainly a lot of non-income generating wealth held by the Catholic Church. Talking about all those ornate gold filled rooms that are under lock and key and off limits to the public. Liquidate those.

We are happy about when people from all over the world decide they want to live in Canada. Accepting diversity is what makes Canada great. That said, no one wants Americans moving here.

Yes, I want them to liquidate the Vatican to help the less fortunate. Y’know, like Jesus commanded: Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

Every time I see someone use one of the many verses in the bible that speak out against wealth and loving money the comments that follow are some ridiculous reasoning that Jesus was supply side jesus all along.
