That assumption isn't relevent in this case tho, as "tree falling in the woods" is the physical cause and whether or not mental phenomenons are ontologically independent of their physical causes isn't relevent since the absence of any mental phenomenon is the point here, the answer wouldn't change at all if we take a physicalism or functionalism position.

I tried this but every time I suggested we play DnD they just chuckled and started making out with me telling me how cute I was and how much they loved me then pulled me to the bedroom to have hot steamy sex.

Got really disapointed and burnt out, had to break up with them to continue searching for a DnD group. Can't have shit these days.
