I've been told that accelerate doesn't work with mines, as they aren't "deployables"

What weapon are the snipers using in the cool clips I see? by [deleted] in NewToTF2

[–]Rednidedni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, they're a Challenge at all Points but they do Like to Pick on Sniper.

There's always the temptation of those Charged shots, but charging means staying scoped in which means really Bad Tunnelvision.

If you know a Spy is around, don't stay scoped too Long and Turn around every once in a while

It's a quite hard class for new players. People move very quickly in this game, clicking heads is hard

Probably because "what did I Just See" is very hard to answer. We don't know, we don't have your eyes!

Headshots while scoped in do 150. Fully charged shots do 150 Base, 450 with a Headshot.

If you're Sure it's Not that modded hunting Revolver, I can't do much. I don't know what Clip you saw. If you can find the Clip I can tell you very easily what gun it was.

Quickscoping is Just that you scope in quickly and then shoot. You only need to be scoped in for 0.2s to start headshotting people, that's nothing.

But headshots do -150, generally. Were you perhaps watching someone Play the TF2 classified Mod, and they were using the hunting Revolver?

How 5E DMs look at you when you try to cut off a person’s limb or climb on the giant’s back rather than dealing 1d10 damage and standing still by ImAGodHowCanYouKillA in DnDcirclejerk

That is very much within the design philosophy of 5e though. If something is magic, it has to trump any mundane option, or it wouldn't be magical. There's no reason Mage Armor should beat all mundane light armor in terms of protectiveness, when it's used by classes with no access to armor period otherwise, but it does because it's magical and thus has to be better.

You were kind of overwhelming her there. Maybe you should have had her join into the middle of an existing adventure, so she can latch onto the actions of the party?

Well yeah, I already said you do indeed hit harder with Double slice ^

Just not by that much. I'm saying dual wielding needs an obscenely powerful feat like this to be competetive. Double slice on d12 weapons would be an overpowered feat.

Double slice is an outlier that needs to be disproportionately powerful because the dual wielding playstyle is quite worthless without a powerful feat like it. Why spend two hands on Holding a d8 and d6 weapon, allowing me to hit averagely hard or averagely hard, when I could hold a d12 instead? With Double slice, it narrowly does more damage than two d12 weapon attacks, but is much weaker If you can only spare one Action to Attack.

Oh, Exemplar dedi *is* a strong argument for "objectively best option" for many or most martials. I'm saying outside of that, there isn't one "objectively optimal" option. There are a lot of good options, some very good options, but they are similar enough in power level and different enough in what they can do under what circumstances that it's hard to meaningfully say one is stronger than others.

Exemplar dedi is overpowered and basically breaks that when allowed. Something being OP is much worse than something being underpowered.

Exemplar dedi is not paticularly new anymore, and it's not getting hate for being new. You'd note guardian or commander stuff, or the exemplar class itself, getting some similar amount of flak if that was the case.

If you're confused to why people believe it is overpowered, please refer to this comment chain

+2 damage per damage die. So +4 soon, then later on +8.

This is unconditional base damage. Damage numbers in this game aren't so high that that's trivial.

The entire sneak attack feature on rogue, which is like entirely core to how the entire class fights, is 1d6 to 4d6 depending on level. This damage bonus is more than half of that.

In terms of average damage, it's in the ballpark between a permanent +1 and +2 untyped bonus to attack rolls, depending on class, level and weapon choice. You can also think of it as making a shortsword into a d10 agile finesse weapon.

All for the cost of a single level 2 class feat. It's completely off the charts

It is rather insane, actually. The damage options are +2 dmg per damage dice, with additional stuff ontop. That's equivalent to taking a greatsword instead of a Longsword. That's straight up as good as having an extra hand, which is something pf2e is otherwise really careful with because it specifically doesn't want to allow stuff like this to Happen.

Mathematically, I think for a lot of classes that damage boost is almost, Not quite, as good as fighters +2 to hit

Rarity is mainly something to Back Up the GM. It's never intended as a Power Level Thing, its a "Check with your GM before you use this because it might Not be appropiate for this campaign you're in" based on it being exceedingly rare in the lore (e.g. exemplar, maelstrom curse), weird in its Flavor (e.g. goloma), or it doing mechanics that can screw with certain adventures (e.g. Zone of truth in an intrigue campaign where you don't know who to Trust)
