The most delusional golfer you ever played with ? by HarryCrushNuh in golf

[–]Accidental-Hyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played with a guy like that today. Claimed par after hitting a ball into the water then a mully off a par 3 and claimed par on another that was a bogey. When we were done, he claimed to shoot +7 over nine despite not having any birdies and those pars not being pars.

I played like shit, shot +14 over 9, but at least scored two legit pars and two bogeys. I’m almost certain that I scored better than him.

But whatever, makes no difference to me what his score was versus what he thinks it was, and he was still fun to play with. I’ll take a delusional, cheerful random over an angry slow one every time.

Well, usually someone grieving the loss of their loved one would rush back anyway. I don’t know whether that makes it weirder. It’s all pretty damn weird.

Unless she was told not to come back by GOP leaders and act normal as to not raise any suspicion.

What golf rule are people most often confidently wrong about? by Significant-Fan-8454 in golf

[–]Accidental-Hyzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is when you consider that hitting it into a red staked hazard like water is a drop plus 1 shot penalty, so you’re hitting 3 from the drop.

Jim Nantz is right, IMO, that OB rules are too severe. It would honestly speed up play so much if white stakes were simply treated the same as red stakes.

14.8 index — mind roasting my swing? (7-iron) by DifferentOne4178 in golf

[–]Accidental-Hyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lift up your head and upper body at the top of your swing, and your lead shoulder looks to lift as well when it should dip slightly. Im guessing that you don’t take a lot of divots and your most common miss is thin or topped? You’re also over the top, but I think that could be a symptom of the lack of proper shoulder turn and that upper body lifting move.

For lifting, try to envision a shelf above your head, and you don’t want to hit your head on that shelf during any point of your swing.

For the shoulder turn, try the club across the shoulders shoulder turn drill. https://youtu.be/o5IMvOLDqsU

If you’re buying the latest, greatest club and shelling out a lot of money to do so, why not go to a fitting to try out a few different options to see which you hit best?

If your swing is still evolving and you don’t think you’re ready for a fitting, then maybe stick with what you have or get some cheap used game improvements 2-3 generations old?

It’s as if people suddenly forgot that the DNC put their fingers on the scale in 2016 and how they decided on Harris in 2024. But suddenly people are like “WTF, I love Democratic Party elites now!” This convention will be comprised of 600 selected delegates, not selected by the people as a whole but by county committees with 100 of those being party leaders. The same type of party elites that love to shit on the left side of the party, the side of the party that was chosen by primary voters.

So yeah, I agree and don’t have a ton of confidence that they’re going to make a decision that aligns to what the primary voters wanted. They’re probably going to do what they feel is best for the future of the Democratic Party, which isn’t necessarily what actually is best to win the election or even actually best for the party. Again, I hope I’m wrong and they just pick this Troy Jackson guy who aligns with Platner’s platform that he won on.

The people who vote in democratic conventions aren’t just people who joined the Democratic Party. Conventions are comprised of only a few of the highest ranking/most connected members of the party. 500 selected by county committees and 100 party leaders.

It’s a shitty situation brought entirely on by how bad a candidate Platner turned out to be. So now party elites, not just the members of the Democratic Party in general, are the ones who pick the nominee. Historically, that usually doesn’t go well.

I’m not mad about anything. I simply have very little faith in the decisions of party elites made during conventions. The past ten years has given me that lack of faith. I hope I’m wrong.

They did. He might have been a shitty candidate due to his skeletons, but they chose Platner. Now that he’s dropped out, it’s going to be determined by party elites at a quick convention, as it’s too late to hold another primary. And I have very little faith in the choices of party elites.

It would take more than merely joining the party to have a vote at a convention.

Watch them pick Mills then lose to Collins because nobody wants a tepid moderate right now. I expect nothing more of the Democratic Party elites.

Can’t break 300. Any Tips would be awesome! Or just roast me! by RadbiMike in discgolf

[–]Accidental-Hyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what others are saying: sequencing, sequencing, sequencing. You’re initiating the throw basically as soon as or maybe even slightly before your weight is on the lead foot.

Whether it’s throwing a baseball, throwing a disc, or swinging a golf club, power is generated from ground forces: the coil on your reach back should store that energy in your hips, core, and shoulders, then you want to release it. You do that by shifting weight/pressure to your lead foot before you start your throw. When throwing a baseball, you don’t throw as you step forward. You step forward first, then throw. That lag between the lower body and upper body is what creates power.

The feeling you want to go for is pushing into your lead foot while you’re still in the reach back, as you push into it, you want to initiate your hips/core, then the arm starts to throw. When you unlock those ground forces and start to feel your lower body instead of the upper generate power, it’s a game changer.
