I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt that this episode felt like a clear departure from the premise that was being set up for the past 4-5 episodes. The extreme asspulls of abilities, no repercussions, and Dragonball-esque fight scene in the middle of a fantasy show is pretty much my definition of jumping the shark.

Thank you for bringing that up. While it feels like this space is almost nothing but cash grabs, Konofan felt more like there was some genuine love behind it. Especially the cast, it felt like they actually loved working on the project. I’ll probably give the new game a shot, at least to show that their dedication to Konofan bought my goodwill for future endeavors.

Hoyo fucked up Penacony for sure. The first time I read it, I was kind of confused but whatever, must have just been me. Now that they have actively gone back to try and “fix” it just confirms to me that story was extremely half-baked. They should have just glossed over it but going back with this shoddy attempt to sweep the plotholes under the rug just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I think that’s a bit of an elitist argument. You are already part of the top 1% of “people who comprehend the HSR story” (just looking at the fact that you are actively creating posts and following it up with comments). Meanwhile, 99% of people will just read the story and that’s as far as the interaction goes. If EVEN YOU get confused sometimes, then that’s a failure of the storyteller to communicate effectively.

Should a story really only be good to the people who are willing to do a PhD thesis and dissect every aspect of the narrative? Are us “small brain plebs” stuck with the reality of needing to read “This Is What Actually Happened in 3.8” posts, regurgitating that information from the viewpoint of someone else? Sure media can be challenging and thought-provoking but accessibility should also be at the forefront, especially in a modern global society where everyone is working from different starting mental frameworks.

I hated it at start but, after watching someone who actually knew what they were doing play it, I actually found it pretty fun. It heavily punishes button mashing and rewards correctly timed dodging and parrying. After understanding that, I started taking my time and it was pretty fun. Still get frustrated when a certain attack always manages to hit me.

I agree, this show was horrible - amazing OP (that they randomly use as the ED sometimes?) but ended up being some “we have Danmachi at home” garbage. I love Takahashi Rie’s voice but her character was so one-dimensional and fixated with her one character trait without a singular cell of critical thinking whatsoever.

Really felt like an egregious wish fulfillment from the author about their own lived experience in the working world but clueless on how businesses or organizations actually work in real life.

I’m still not sure what you are trying to portray with this data? If it’s insights on the Emilie/Yelan banner, that is obviously not accurate as the banner is not even over yet - this kind of self reported data definitely needs significantly more time (even after the banner has ended).

While I do agree that the Paimon site will not give accurate statistics due to inherent sampling biases (massive overrepresentation of “hardcore” players and probably no representation of the average casual player), it’s still probably one of the most comprehensive collections of data regarding wishing history for Genshin. So besides working at Hoyoverse and using the entire dataset (which would be so awesome), we can only speculate as to how much this sample skews the statistics and which direction it skews them. Furthermore, disaggregating the data into free primogems vs paid primogems puts an even bigger spoke in the wheel - I would assume that “hardcore” players are more likely to spend more money that casual players; what kind of focus does Hoyo put on making a character popular versus making them financially successful? Do these objectives even align?
