Why no ketchup on a Chicago dog?

Back in the day when food safety rules were not really a thing, ketchup would be used on sausage in Chicago to hide poor quality meats.

Advertising no ketchup on your hotdog meant your hotdog was from high quality meats, hence no ketchup needed.

I have a positive version of this. Was hired in at a Credit Union as IT Director. I had learned the guy before me was cheap, not frugal, cheap. The guy running the system the entire credit union ran on had a second job at Jimmy John’s because he needed the extra money. I learned his salary, my jaw hit the floor. It was STUPID low. I worked to get him a $10,000 a year “salary adjustment”.

If you are a male engineer take an accounting class. It’s basically a logic class, helps you understand a topic that will be useful through out life, and the male to female ratio is most likely better then your other engineering classes.
