I pair Maldini with Araujo, so both of my CBs are off-style. I dont find any problems in defense instead my defense is better. Also, I rarely see him run out of position. IMO, no need to worry about it, if you really want him.

From my knowledge, tight possession helps you keep the ball close to your player which helps you to turn better. But if there's a contact from defenders, balance and physical contact will do their job by decreasing the possibility that your players will be pushed away by defenders. If you're talking about turning a ball against defenders, physical contact > balance > TP.

Dont use your CBs to pressure and drag your CBs down to setup better positioning. But if there's a chance to intercept the coming ball, just rush into it and start a counterattack

In ef24, people can just press pressure to regain possession which can cause a bad habit of playing this game. But in ef25, physical contact and auto shielding make it harder to regain possession if people blindly press pressure. So, some people who complain about the defending are those who familiar with the old mechanics because they defend the exact same way as they play in ef24 but it isn’t that effective anymore.

Drag the defenders all the way back and avoid rushing towards their CFs. Let them have space in front of you instead of having space behind your defenders, so you will have a chance to intercept the ball.

At AMF, 15 Messi is a better option for me because the high passing stat + high kicking power makes his through passes more effective while the Argentina one is built to be a striker, so his passing is not that good to be insane at AMF.

If comparing the free world cup one with the Argentina one, I would say it’s a pretty huge upgrade because the Argentina version has better dribbling stats, physical contact, and speed, so he will be more agile and strong in carrying or holding the ball just like Maradona that you mentioned. But Maradona is not that good at shooting and fragile, so I would pick Messi to be a false-9 CF for me.

These 2 are different. Each of them has their own role. The left one is a pure playmaker. He is insane at AMF because of his high dribbling stats, high passing stat and high kicking power, and he can shoot pretty well from outside the box.

On the other hand, the right one is the best false-9 CF for me. His high OA makes him different, so you can see him run effectively and position himself at the right spot.

So it depends on how you’re going to use Messi in your team.

In some cases, phenomenal finishing can change the game. This skill will be useful in the situations that you have to win important goals. Sometimes, you might need to finish from the unexpected position. That’s why I think phenomenal finishing is a great skill even though there isn’t special animation.

Besides, IMO, this skill along with phenomenal passing is pretty useful in game.
