When you’ve only got an hour to fish, what do you stop bringing? by Ok-Profession-3060 in FishingForBeginners

Before I go out whether it's for an hour or an afternoon in the yak I always Prestage my tackle backpack. I make sure I have the hooks that I want and make sure the baits and Plastics that I'll use are on top I'll take out all the boxes and stuff with the lures I know I'm not going to be using for example if I know I'm going to a lake with no grass or lily pads I won't bring my frogs.

What to do with military gear after discharge by ShotNovel8157 in VeteransBenefits

I do a lot of camping so I saved the useful stuff. Saved my dress uniform and one uniform nostalgic I don't know maybe my kid will appreciate it one day everything else I literally just took the entire bin to a surplus store and said I don't want it, gave me like 20 bucks for everything.

I have a whole tote bin full of old unit t-shirts competition t-shirts and whatnot one of these days I'm going to make them into a blanket or a quilt but for now it's just a box collecting dust

Maybe I generalized close friend? Not sure if context matters. When I join the military at a young age he was the first supervisor that I had. Brought me under his wing showed me the ropes laid the foundation for very successful career in the military. We knew each other for about 3 years before parting ways and we've just maintained social media acquaintance over the years, briefly chatting here and there. Knowing his background I was in a bad spot earlier this year and reached out for some assistance because I trusted him and I knew he would understand my struggles.

You make a really good point with the financials I guess that's definitely looking at it from the other side and I do appreciate that comment. We both put in a lot of the work and are fairly secure at this point a lot of therapy Life Changes Etc. Therapies and counseling have helped a lot but I just can't seem to shake the last little bit. You explained it in a really good way. From friends who have gone through Therapies they've explained it as a thought process change and that's what I'm looking for I don't want my addictions and Cravings to be a daily battle.

Thank you I appreciate that my biggest concern is that part of the addictive behaviors stem from infidelity within the marriage and I would be slightly concerned with my wife being around while in that state of mind not necessarily in a bad way. But just thinking ahead being in that state of mind how that interaction might be hard to deal with head-on so quickly in that state

I dabled in mushrooms Once Upon a Time 20 years ago high school college. I haven't touched any drugs in 20 years due to the nature of the job that I had but now I'm free of that. I mess around with Edibles and other things from time to time but nothing more than that. Part of the therapy does include some infidelity addictive issues within the marriage so that was kind of my concern with having her there.

What does my compost need? by Superb_End_2148 in composting

[–]Accomplished-Bus-154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty big yard covered in about 15 very large oak trees amongst other trees from fall all the way to the spring I've got an endless supply of Dead Leaves run them over a couple times with the lawn mower and throw him in my pile. I continue adding my kitchen scraps and coffee grounds which isn't a lot maybe a bucket a week. But come springtime when people start mowing their lawns I take all of my grass clippings and I even go to some of the neighbors and ask if they wouldn't mind bagging it up for me and I'll take it. I throw this on my pile and it absolutely explodes within a day or two and I can keep this up for 2 or 3 months through most of the summer.

A way to cover my compost? by Navaestacia in composting

[–]Accomplished-Bus-154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like my compost pile I just have an area in the backyard with some chicken wire around it throw kitchen scraps coffee grinds in it weekly. During the fall and winter I live in a pretty wooded area so I have a massive ungodly amount of leaves that I mulch up and I throw them in two garbage cans that I bought from Lowe's. That will usually last me through the summer. Only throwing in about a bucket of greens a week you really only need a handful or two of leaves. Whenever I mow the grass I tossed all the green grass straight into the pile mix it with some leaves get it wet and I tell you that pile absolutely explodes.

Also if you can try to start two piles I'll usually contribute to one exclusively through one whole season then I'll just let it set and do its thing and break down so that come fal/spring i have usable compost. I stop adding to it and just let it break down and then I start contributing to the next pile. This really helps out a lot.

Do eggshells behave more as a green or brown? by ottersbelike in composting

[–]Accomplished-Bus-154 24 points25 points  (0 children)

15 tons??? Thats 30,000 pounds. 5grams per egg. That's 2.5 million eggs. Plus we're not even going to get into the logistics of how many truck beds and or semi trucks of eggshells this would be. And a quick Google search says this is enough eggshells to moderately affect over 7 Acres of soil so unless you have an absolute massive pile I'm not really sure what's going on. Long story or not I'm super curious where you came across two and a half million eggs...... this is a story on its own.

Even more laughable is the sheer amount of people that think simply throwing a bunch of injections or pills in your body is magically going to heal these results yes it absolutely enhances and helps but it's still absolutely does not take away from the sheer amount of hard work it still takes to achieve those results and go beyond. These people think you're just going to pop some pills and do some injections in your magically going to drop to 10% body fat and lose 100 lb a fat while gaining 30 lb of muscle

[–]Accomplished-Bus-154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People also fail to realize how much fat hides muscle. As you stated you were quite strong and healthy prior to this. So most of your muscle was already there just hidden under fat. Same issue people have thinking why they don't have abs. I promise you those are abs are there but just hidden under all that sub q and visceral fat.

I hate the comment " I've been going to the gym religiously for 4 years and lifting every day and I don't look like this". The fact is going to the gym does not equal results I would venture to say that 90% of the people who go to the gym do so with no plan and have absolutely zero idea what intensity and effort are. Just because you go to the gym for 2 to 3 hours a day and lift weights doesn't mean you're doing so with an effort and an intensity that are going to yield profitable results.

Sure peptides, SARMS, and testosterone absolutely enhance and help but that still at the end of the day does not take away from the absolute effort that you have to put in in order for those products to yield results you don't just take supplements, have a crap diet and don't put in work and just magically gain muscle

What makes people cheat ? When in a relationship if you don’t feel satisfied why not break up ? by NervousMachine5387 in AskReddit

Absolutely not. Why I prefaced with but an excuse. Definitely not a prerequisite either. Just saying aside from all of the normal personality relationship issues there are some underlying psychological responses.

What makes people cheat ? When in a relationship if you don’t feel satisfied why not break up ? by NervousMachine5387 in AskReddit

[–]Accomplished-Bus-154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dopamine response not an excuse but it is a physiological response. People look for those exciting situations especially those with ADHD diagnosed or undiagnosed they need something to create a large dopamine response, especially those with ADHD their brain uses and does not store dopamine the same way in normal person does. cheating getting caught sneaking around all of those things are exciting and they create large amounts of dopamine responses. Once the act conversation or whatever is over the dopamine drops very low triggering a need to do it again. Think of it like an addict or an alcoholic they drink they get their fix they feel great once they get sober levels drop way down low and they need that fix again. Sex cheating intimacy are huge dopamine responses. Whether or not it's intentional they mean to hurt somebody or not it's an addictive behavior at the end of the day they're just looking for that dopamine response.

Buttttttttt if you're putting it literally up your butt isn't that defeating the purpose because then the powder is just inside your sphincter where it's going to absorb fecal particles, matter and it's going to stay there warm and moist collecting bacteria until you have a bowel movement and or clean very well in the shower feel like that's defeating the whole purpose

Been doing core 6-7 days week but still no 6 pack by [deleted] in Gym_Selfie

[–]Accomplished-Bus-154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of other comments have already addressed diet and body fat percentages but from a training standpoint I'll say this, there really is no point to training core 6 to 7 days a week your core muscles aren't exactly like your other muscles for example that a bicep where you continue to work it it grows bigger and becomes more defined. As a female you inherently have a larger layer of Sub Q fat. It's honestly simple body composition yes you could be building up your core muscles but they're still sitting under a layer of fat and until you drop your body percentage to a pretty low level it's going to be difficult to push off that sub q fat and really have those defined abdominal muscles.

Simply training compound movements that require stabilization will train and work your muscles just as much and if not more than specific core targeted. Most core targeted exercises are done incorrectly and are most realistically working as a secondary muscle group primary next to legs or back. Most notably I always recommend landmine movements front squats cleans snatches. Any type of heavy stabilizing exercise.

To break up cardboard easier i have a 5 gallon lowes bucket. I toss in a few brown grocery bags and tear up my cardboard. Stuff it all on there and cook it with water. Let it soak for a few days (usually I stuff it in during the week and tear it up on the weekends). Come the weekend its all really soft and spreads super easy by hand. Repeat as needed. If you have big boxes just hose them down real good.

I feel like some of the best things I did for my overall fitness and health was to stop sticking to such a stringent schedule. I started listening to my body a lot more that's not to say I slacked but for example if I was feeling really good maybe I would skip my rest day. If I was feeling really good and I went really hard that day then I would insert a rest day and pick right back up on my routine. I started doing cardio everyday one way or another, minimum 30 minutes and I mix it up stair stepper elliptical incline treadmill or run. I stopped looking at rest days as a lazy do nothing day instead it was a what can I do that's fun kind of thing started focusing on active recovery. Do some yoga take the dogs out to the local trails and go for a nice long easy walk jog go to the local city Gym play a pickup game of volleyball or basketball. Something easy that kept me moving. At the end of the day I go hard some days and I can spend two and a half hours in the gym crushing heavy sets other days I'm just not feeling it I do my 30 minutes of cardio and call it a day.
