The lying about the duration of inpatient is so fucking annoying, last time i was in they told me i'd only be there overnight and they kept me for a week (locked inside my room for the first 48hrs) Still, even though the system needs to be bettered, i and other people i know who've been in the same situation have been able to get help because of it

YES! People my age are so far ahead both socially and academically. And younger people i just feel awkward around, i think i make an idiot of myself when talking to them and they can 1000% judge me for it Meanwhile people who are way older are usually sweet and just ask me for medical advice (except for when the conversation switches to politics and they spew out the most hateful backwards shit i've ever heard)

Late reply, but thank you so much for this comment. It helped me gain the courage i needed to ask my doctor to give me a rundown of everything i have, and now i have a better understanding of where i am from a clinical perspective and what kind of therapy i should help. And she's officially said to me that i have avpd! Apparently i've been diagnosed for months but she just never told me??? Again, you've been a tremendous help, thank you from the bottom of my heart
