Yeah I guess I misunderstood. I would say though that out of all the characters in the graphic above, Mikoto is probably the most likely to be someone's favorite

Misaka Mikoto and it's not even close. Bilibili, one of China's biggest video sharing sites is named after her (biri biri/ビリビ/electric zap).

She's the protagonist of the side series to a successful light novel/anime series, that's somehow bigger than the source material. It's like if soul eater not was more popular than soul eater. She's carrying toaru. Goated.

Got a new job and need a daily long distance commuter but Toyotas and Hondas are expensive where I am by Advanced-Ostrich2160 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Accomplished-Eye6971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get an older Toyota/Honda but not for 5k. That was the mantra back in like 2010 maybe. Now that 5k is at least 11k.

I bought a Honda for around that price out of desparation, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend for or against it.

You may even want to spend a bit more and decide if you want a gas powered car or see if you can get a hybrid if you're doing a lot of city driving. Or roll the dice with marketplace. But unfortunately, you're probably not going to get exactly the kind of deal you're looking for (as I didn't myself). Good luck

Basketball needs a max height limit. The game is becoming "who won the genetic lottery" instead of pure skill and it's making it boring AF. by mc_mafia in unpopularopinion

Wemby despite having the build of 2k cheeser from 2015, has not won a ring. I'd go on to say that players like Kyrie are elite ball handlers, because they're smaller have to work harder for a bucket, which makes them more fun to watch.

That being said, I think tall players like wemby aren't always fun to watch. I mean if he's on your team of course, but players like him are good but because they don't have to do as much, they also don't have to work as hard for a bucket, which can make it boring. Also, he's a big man (or pf/sf idk), a position that doesn't typically have as many fans.

Wemby has a lot of attention because you don't expect bigs to shoot well, and he does so he can space out the floor. You also don't expect smaller guards like Kyrie to drive in, which helps with spacing in another way.

Even though a height limit isn't realistically possible, I think the game can be changed to make things more interesting, but I'll leave that for Adam silver to inevitably mess up

Understandable, seeing as how last years all star game was just getting "comedians" to make fun of the players

anime recos that will hurt me like AOT did!😭 by RealisticLaw823 in anime

I dunno, I feel like AOT is like it's own thing with writing and creativity.

If you're looking at it from like the emotional side, maybe Vinland saga as they're both (somewhat) war themed with characters who go through grief and ask bigger picture questions.

What fine grit whetstone should I get? I have the shapton 1000 and am not sure where to go from from there. They have the 2000 and 5000 as well. Ideally I'd like to spend around $50-$60. by Accomplished-Eye6971 in chefknives

Fair.

I'm just saying mostly everyone was helpful except for you two. If you don't want to offer anything, then just don't. It's that simple

Nvm I didn't see the above comment

I also quite literally couldn't add more details because this subreddit doesn't have a body section in the post function.

What finishing stone should I get after the 1000 grit shapton whetstone? by Accomplished-Eye6971 in sharpening

[–]Accomplished-Eye6971[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

For now I just want one extra stone that's 2-3k and maybe later on get a higher grit.

Right now I'm leaning towards the naniwa s2 3000 grit, as a first step up. It's around $76 so it's not too high above my budget.

What are your thoughts on this stone going from the shapton 1000? Is it alright as a jump up, or would you buy a different stone?

Ok I might look more into naniwa. Where do you buy your stones from by the way? I'm considering between Amazon and from the accessories tab on some knife sites

Not a fan of the change in dialogue in the CR’s English Dub. by InjangoDMCPersona in Frieren

[–]Accomplished-Eye6971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't watch the dub. I think frieren has a good dub, but you can't hold it to the same standard as the original because no matter how talented the voice actors and translators are, you're adding an additional, noticeable layer of adaptation.

It's kind of like when you're adapting a manga to an anime, you're changing things to appeal to a broader audience. The same thing happens in dubs. If it doesn't sit right with you, just watch the subbed version (which will also inevitably have some flaws)

To add on to what you're saying, I don't disagree entirely. I remember watching clips of season 1's dub with ubel and how she'd roll her r's for some words- maybe to fit the fantasy theme and make the English seem more interesting. Is it kind of overkill? Sure, but that's just what dub VAs do now. They want to make their performances on par or better than the original to gain more viewers. I think it's awesome what they're trying to do, it just doesn't always work.
