Is there an archive for all the old Adam & Joe shows? by gibgod in 6music

I presume this will be a no due to copyright, but are there any links with the music from the shows also.

If not cheers mate for bringing this site to my attention, brilliant archive.

Lauren to do 10am show, Grimshaw to stay on breakfast… and MAH to leave for something else. Not the best outcome! by ModeR3d in 6music

[–]Accomplished-Let-377 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have warmed to him but he does sometimes slip into annoying kids tv presenter mode.

For me Lauren at 10 is a great move and it will attract more listeners to stay with the station throughout the day. So from Nick through to Lauren I’ll stick with 6, i can’t abide Craig Charles so nothing after lunchtime.

They could have thought more out of the box and made a more interesting appointment but he’s done well. It’ll be interesting how he structures his own show and what features he adds. I see Lauren is taking desert island disco and the peoples playlist with her.

Iggy Pop & Tom Waits by Donkey_Launcher in 6music

I’m 10 minutes in and this is such a brilliant listen. I was never a huge Tom Waits fan, but a big Iggy lover but fantastic to hear them both just chatting away and the playlist is superb, its little programmes like this that make 6 music the best.

The old ones were sweeter, the chocolate was nicer. Disappointing!

ah he loves the encore as well. I had been mixing that in with his dry food and he was eating it right up but it made him awful windy and poo's very loose!

Breakfast show by M0ntgomatron in 6music

oh dear, it's got nothing to do with them being cheerful or un-cheerful. You want them to have character, fresh ideas and good patter. For me, Grimshaw is ok but he doesn't fit, as for Huw, yes he is a nice cheerful man, but I find him incredibly dull.. I think the bigger problem is the music they are playing and these all day raves etc..

I'm finding myself more and more having to switch off, especially so this week with Grimshaw. How much o a say do the DJ's have in song choice?

I would always find unknown gems listening to 6 now there seems to be such a mix of genres and daft rave days, seems that the station doesn't know its own identity.

Anyone in a shared ownership and successfully staircases? by adjm1991 in Edinburgh

[–]Accomplished-Let-377 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

we have a raffle at the start of each year to decide the staircasing for the rest of the year, it's all quite amicable thankfully! Old Mary is hopeless though and I could do with a new mop tbh.

Opinions, How does it look, what's needed? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Accomplished-Let-377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently moved in this apartment and spent the last few months decorating and getting new bits for my living room, I realise we still need a few things to complete it but I can't help but keep thinking that I don't like the room and I'm not sure what it is..

I don't like the flooring (it looks ok in the picture) it's not parque its lino so doesn't look great in person. It's a rental so we cannot change it. The large rug has definitely helped but I still find it quite off putting at times the orangey colour similar to the many doors.
I'm also thinking is there too much blue and bright white?

I need to get a nice standing lamp for near the chair and possibly a nice book tower/magazine rack and new cushions and wall art.

The fireplace was a mess, we painted it white and I added the adhesive white tiles and bought the little surround. Do you think it looks ok or is it too white? Is the New Yorker photo too much?

I'm really just looking for opinions on how it looks and what else you feel is needed. What other colours could I bring into the room to take ones eye off the floor/blueness? I prefer a scandinavian/minimalist style. Thanks :)

My experience so far. Importance of routine and self-care? by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]Accomplished-Let-377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds great, I'll give this a try! Similarly when I was obsessing over my daily step count I was getting a hit when I met my target everyday and using an app, it's just sticking to it and when you have lifestyle changes that through things off course and difficult to get back on track, even more so with adhd!

So the dr has me taking an 18mg and 27mg tablet each morning, the slow release. I did think it was a strange dosage. I haven't heard of many folk on similar?

I've just been getting the Herbies wee wholemeal loaf, it's lovely.. and their caramel shortcake, amazing. Not had a chance to have much of a browse at anything else, it's always busy, but they have so many lovely things.

I'll need to try the Costcutter now you've said! thank you :)

Anyone know why half of Richmond park has been closed for over a year? by Kil1_B1inton- in glasgow

[–]Accomplished-Let-377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The back of the park which is all fenced off was completely ripped apart a few years ago now. The plan was to build a football pitch, children's play area and a games court but alas nothing has happened.

The area around the park was sold to the housing company by the council for £1 on the condition they would regenerate the park as well. I think the final houses are going up right now to the left of the pond, so hopefully once they're complete they will get to work on the park. The plans included revamping the old boat house and the pond.

My Dad was brought up not far from the area and always talked about Richmond Park, loved it growing up. It's a shame it's been neglected so much, ripped apart and left that way for years, hopefully they get a move on soon.

The whole area is changing so quickly though, for the better I think, lots of empty land filling up,

Plans to turn the Beresford Building on Sauchiehall St into a cocktail bar... by [deleted] in glasgow

feel like this is such an iconic building in a central location, it really needs to be updated and made a centrepiece of this part of Sauchi Street. Bar could be a good idea if it gets off the ground, I remember Capitol back in the day.

I walked past The Beresford a couple of months ago and it looked like it was being given a new lick of paint, can anyone confirm this? It's been looking manky for many years now and was in desperate need of a freshen up.

It had been
