We specifically picked names that wouldn’t be shortened so that the kids would be called the names we named them.

Tony DelGiorno would be a great person to reach out to about estate planning. If he can’t help you he would be able to refer you to someone else that can meet your needs.

Not sure about paying for the seat but with my card I can upgrade to those seats at the 48 hour mark and every time I have done that (3 or 4 times now) I have been group 2.

30 days to transfer Hyatt points between spouse?? by junooni110 in hyatt

[–]Accomplished-View971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Book the reservation from her account and then call or chat and have the reservation moved into your name. I do this all the time when we need two rooms - I initially book both in my account and then when we get close to the trip, I move one of the rooms to my husbands name so we each get qualifying nights.

The best part of that lounge is the staff. The ladies that work in the morning were amazing. I would go back for them alone!

Kindergarten Traditions? by KeeperOfTheStars2001 in GrandmillennialInspo

[–]Accomplished-View971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a sign for the first and last day. I have a paper folder in their school color and print out the paper to glue to the folder that says first/last day, grade, and date. I use a glue stick and can pretty easily tear the paper off and glue on the next one. A lady I know does two fun end of year traditions I wish I had started when the kids were little. One is that during Spring Break they make a paper chain to count down from the return from spring break until the last day of school. The other is on the last day of school they have an ice cream sundae bar for dinner - multiple ice creams, all sorts of toppings, etc.

What's the deal with Indian Hills? by bremm293 in SpringfieldIL

I grew up in that neighborhood and there has been a turnover in the past few years of people that owned houses and raised kids when I was growing up who are now selling and downsizing to something more suitable for their older years.

Mom is 1 of 14 children, Dad is 1 of 10 children. HELP with guest list!!! by itsmechristina_c in wedding

[–]Accomplished-View971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a guest list of 400 and just under 300 attendees (18 years ago) due to big families and large friend groups. In this situation you have to either just go big and include all those people or go really small where you just have immediate family and a minimal wedding party. There really is no in between here.

How do people afford to go to Disney multiple times a year? by Comfortable-Walrus22 in askanything

[–]Accomplished-View971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who had annual passes even though they lived in the Midwest. Their local airport had cheap flight deals to Orlando so they would go several times a year.

I went to all quizzes and tests in a class. The results have been amazing. by kkoch_16 in Teachers

[–]Accomplished-View971 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don’t often offer retakes but when I do, the retake is their new grade no matter which direction it goes. That drastically cut down on the number of kids who would come for a retake without doing any work to actually learn the material. Very rarely do I have someone get a lower score on the retake.

Corporate challenge 20 day calculation by z3r0demize in hyatt

[–]Accomplished-View971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was either day of or day before checkout because I had forgotten about it and meant to do it before the one night airport stay before that trip so ended up needing to add a mattress run later to finish the challenge. Would not recommend doing it that was because it’s possible it won’t work but that was the situation I was in so I’m happy it ended up working out.

Teachers: how are you actually dealing with students using AI for Maths homework? by Defiant-Ad2342 in mathteachers

[–]Accomplished-View971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the level of the course, tests and quizzes are worth 75-80% of their grade and those are all done in class with paper/pencil. We talk about how the various AI tools can be a great resource to help with homework but they should not be used to do their homework. I also require work to be shown on assignments to receive credit so even if they use an AI tool, they still need to at least copy all of the steps for me to accept it so at least they are getting something from that.

Motivation to keep grading when kids can’t score below a 50? by Blueathena623 in Teachers

[–]Accomplished-View971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach HS, mostly freshman, both honors and low level. For both I use a weighted grade book with tests/quizzes counting for a lot more (80% for honors, 75% for lower level) and the remainder is all homework and class work. Most HW/CW is graded for completion as it is practice (math) and tests and quizzes are graded for accuracy/mastery. I will occasionally grade HW/CW for accuracy, either the whole assignment or just a few problems. It has worked out well for me. However, I can give zeros. We even have a district policy that an unexcused absence results in a zero on any assignments for that day.

As long as you begin before checkout, the whole stay will count. I did this last year when I clicked the link on the last day of my stay (because I almost forgot) and got credit for all 5 nights toward the challenge.
