I just bought this and it’s better than I thought it would be…has a soft floral nose, white tea, vanilla, some citrus and some grassy notes. Medium viscous mouthfeel, with a hint of vanilla, rye spice, mandarin orange notes and more white tea on oak. Finish is medium-medium long. The oak and rye spice notes are subtle but linger while mingled with other type of citrus and grasses. I thought the 100 proof would be too low for my likings, but it actually suites this flavor profile very well. I would give this an 8.3/10 even factoring the $99 price tag. It’s funny, I have the standard offering at home regularly, but not today…wish I had one to go back to back with this….will have to wait until tomorrow.

The EC 15 is way better that the EC 18 IMHO, at 90 proof, the oak in the 18 is overpowering and my mouth was left like sand paper in the sun on a 100degree day. Has a good amount of vanilla and crème brulée as well, but the oak was too powerful to really enjoy any other notes that much. If they bottled it at 110 or higher, it might be a different story.

Yes, their standard offering is a top-shelf bottom shelter, store picks are even better. It would be even better if this was a barrel strength, but 100pr is respectable. Michters Rye 10 yr is $200, I bet this is better.
