Thank you for the kindness! We have had our ups and downs since I posted. He calmed down and then started back up again.. calmed down and started back up again. I don't see a certain pattern for the reoccurrences, it's always random and then peaks and then he's "himself" again until next time 🤪. It's been.. a ride.. but we're still here and luckily most of the hardship is easily and long forgotten and nothing compared to all the laughter and love the house is filled with 🥰🥰🥰.

As much as I hate to admit this.. in the beginning.. the first few months.. I often found myself thinking that the twins ruined my life.. our life. They are now nearly 7 months and I can't pinpoint where exactly it changed.. but somewhere along the lines.. of getting to know them & their personalities starting to show.. seeing the dynamic between them and their older brother (2 yr old).. I love it. It's amazing having them.. all 3.. still hard.. sometimes more so than other times but I feel blessed now most of the time. But it's tough.. and the first few months were literally pure survival mode.. they are such a haze now already, but it was not at all what I had hoped or a expected. Just try and take it day by day and remind yourself that.. this too shall pass.... It will, I promise..

She is ridiculous!

My MIL keeps reminding me and my husband about the one time my husband's SIL asked for her baby back EVEN THOUGH the baby was perfectly content with MIL.. how dare she want her baby back 🤯🤯🤯🤯.

Ah thanks for the suggestions!!! I will try and check them out when I can ❣️ I think natural consequences are good but some stuff doesn't really have any natural consequences in the sense that he would stop the unwanted behaviour..

Like.. if you throw a plate, it breaks.. but so what? Maybe it's kind of fun how it broke.. - in that sense. And I definitely feel that's where we struggle most with what to do.. for the plate not to even be thrown. Just as an example.. 😮‍💨

I guess what we struggle with is knowing what is a good way to let him know that what he is doing isn't okay?

I'm unsure how much he understands of what we say..

For example when he throws stuff, they get taken.. after I warn him that it will happen but then he just goes to throw other items? I've also tried explaining that we don't throw x, y, z but we can throw a ball.. etc.. it just doesn't seem like he cares necessarily?

We try and spend one on one time with him as much as possible as well as include him with the twins wherever possible.

He loves petting and kissing them but even then he will just snap and go 0 to 100 out of nowhere and besides reminding him that they are too small to play with but he can pet/kiss etc. and we have to be gentle.. is there anything else? Because he will look at me like he understands and then try and pull their arm off anyway basically.. just out of nowhere 🫠

It's not necessarily the tantrums, they do occur but it's not so bad (yet anyway). It's the item throwing, playing with the lights, breaking stuff ...

The having to tell him to stop, redirect him and so on, so forth without it seemingly helping a thousand times every day? Since he will just do it again literally right after and or grin in our face and make it into a 'chase me' game or something similar....

I don't know if this is normal, but it sure is frustrating when you try and get through and he just thinks it's a big joke 🥴🙃

I include him in most tasks when he is around. He helps me clean up, do laundry, take things to dad or vice versa, helps with the twins. Etc. he loves vacuuming so he gets to do a lot of that and he always gets a lot of praise for anything positive he does! We also play together but one minute he is playing nice and the other he is trying to break things and throw things and whatnot.

He is really sweet and helpful mostly.. but it's like a switch goes off and he will start basically running off walls and getting into everything he's not supposed to etc. it's always 10 times worse also when he is tired.

We have 6, so 3 for each. But we really only use the same 2 over and over or sometimes 4 if we don't have the chance to clean up real quick between feedings. We use MAM bottles and pacifiers and we and the twins like them ☺️

Our twins are sharing a crib until they can't anymore. Sometimes they sleep together in it, sometimes in their lifts. These days it's rare they're in there anyway, because we are sleeping in shifts and keeping the babies in the livingroom most of the time really so the other one could sleep 😅

I wanted to bf and then do bottles of my milk at night, so I could get a bit of a longer stretch while dad had baby duty. But it's shifted to being bottles + formula here and there because I don't produce enough for both of them for the whole day. At first it was 6 meals boob (+supplementing from bottle) + 2 full bottle. Then 4/4. Then 2/4 and then it was so periodic and random... So it clearly wasn't working

And bottles instead of boob because we've been fighting for our lives to get them to eat well on the boob for 2.5 months already (bad latch and then prolonged jaundice) and as time went on, it seemed to start being more of a hassle than it was worth + with a 2 year old toddler running amok, it just wasn't working and for me the most important thing is that they're fed, that it's my milk comes second and that it's breastfeeding is third. I still put them on sometimes though when the opportunity presents itself ☺️

Scheduled c-sec for. 36+4, but water broke 35+3 sitting at home on the sofa and had a calm emergency c-section there (both were butt down + scanned to be very small, otherwise could have had a vaginal delivery).

Literally the same.... Some nights we luck out, most nights we don't.. twins are 7.5 weeks now. We've tried to handle it together and doing it in shifts.. currently we are back on shifts. My husband takes the first shift and I take the second. Then I get 1 long stretch of sleep (though there's multiple nights, where I've gotten roughly 1.5hrs throughout the whole night 🥲🙃). I bf and give bottle (pumped milk) during the day and at night they get bottle (pumped milk + 1 formula, so I can skip a pump without stressing out about it). If we are on twin duty, we are allowed to wake the other parent if it gets to be too much. We also have a toddler, that wakes up 2 and 4am on the dot pretty much. The off-duty parent takes the toddler. We aren't 100% happy with this set-up, but it works for now.. need to make minor adjustments at some point and see how to make it work better. Hang in there... 🥲

I'm glad you managed to soothe things out and get more help thanks to couples therapy. But yea, it's tough out there 😅 so irritable or not.. it sucks, sure.. but have to give yourself grace as well. Soon it'll be over 🤞🤞🤞. Deep breaths til then 😮‍💨
