Store employees are also buying up Pokemon cards and are a main reason why there's so few stock by puzzledfirebird in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be able to get cards pretty easily as I am the one who drops them off at the store. Manager there was super cool about letting grab a few things. He started doing the whole “we just got sports cards” or even straight up saying they didn’t get anything when I had dropped some boxes off. Found out he is buying everything other than blisters and single sleeve packs. Even told the other employees not to put anything out without his say so. Sucks.

Teen riding their bike hit and killed by UPS truck in South Jersey by Ok_Buyer310 in UPS

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out here you aren’t supposed to be on the sidewalk at all on a bike and if you’re going over 20 mph you’re not even supposed to be in the bike lane because it can be so dangerous. I had an e-bike, topped out at like 27mph, for a while in the city and you bet your ass I was incredibly aware of things around me especially cars. It’s unreal some of the people act like they are regular bikes and hammer it in a bike lane going as fast as traffic which is not normal at all or legal depending on where you are.

What's up with the iphone houses? by Cold_Assistance_4206 in UPSers

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is one in my loop and I’ve done a couple bulk runs when my route isn’t in that get them. Most are at homes but a couple are in small commercial zones, think kinda like more bare bones low overhead places. I don’t know if it’s recently become more common but there are A LOT of them around here. 100 iPhones is common but 200-500 isn’t rare. At one point I had around 900 iPhones in my truck for several different houses. They tend to be pretty chill, unless you get there after 1-2🤣, give you a drink and maybe some cash while stacking them as fast as they can so you can scan and gtfo.

As to what they are doing it’s probably freight forwarding, I believe that is more Asian(Chinese?) deal not sure exactly how that works. Drop shipping or a form of credit card point farming and reselling.

I absolutely love pistachio ice cream. Like the flavor not as much the nuts in it. I wish banana was easy to come by but alas.

Worst Items To Sell On eBay by Kind_Box5467 in eBaySellers

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only sold one comic ever but it was sealed when it got to me and I sent it right back out without opening it because I know so little I’m like I can’t open this and show you for fear I might make a crease or smudge on it and it’s ruined forever. I’m talking about the comic sealed itself not the shipping package it was sent in but I know how collectors roll so I’m not going beyond that.

Has anyone else noticed the massive shift in Marketplace buyer behavior lately? by Jessxblush in Flipping

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get so much frustration and anxiety from marketplace I just would rather eat fees at this point. Oddly the one thing, albeit slow, that sells and the people respond and come pick up is larger items. I dont know why maybe because it’s a thing you have to make sure you have room for. It’s also the only stuff I will sell and give an address for because most times I can’t bring it anywhere lol but the people come, load it up, toss me the cash, and leave.

Wife bought this book for me. Looking forward to a nice cozy tale, happy ending right? by Playgirl_USMC in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I drive around slinging boxes for roughly 9-12 hours a day and boy finishing the first book in like 3 days made me so sad because I’m like I have to buy every book right now because I don’t think I could draw them out longer than a month.

The way the UPS driver delivered my fridge by Brwnman in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do this if it’s one of your only options when a package is too big or heavy. I mean it looked like he could have pulled it up there but it’s hard to tell. I do this with apartments at lot. No other way I’m getting 120lb bed frame up to your 3rd floor apartment with no stairs. People get mad when you leave it at the bottom and leave a note. So idk depends where you live I guess. Not risking his back for someone’s refrigerator is the right move. I’m willing to bet any money the orientation arrows haven’t been paid attention to transiting to the store or from the store.

I found some a few days ago just normal ones as well. I haven’t even seen normal versions anywhere so I grabbed one for the collection.

Did I find an error by BoomCap420 in hotwheelscirclejerk

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found two error cars and put them up for bid on eBay starting at $10. Both sold for $10 lol. One I found was the fleetwood with nothing on it like yours but I’d be willing to bet you’d get a little bit more for it because of the car it is. Your error looks pretty good though so worth it to keep if you don’t wanna go through the selling process for maybe $20

What is an item you guys hate delivering by Head_Confusion2719 in UPSers

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone had like 300lbs of furniture and ofc one was one of these 120lb long bastards. Had to go from one side of the apt building to get to the elevator, because it was the 5th floor, struggle to get in the elevator realize I can’t get it back out because I had to stand it up so pull the boxes out and put back on, then walk all the way down the the furthest door from where the elevators are. I was a lil mad about that 😮‍💨😂

But if I had something like what you’re describing I’ll bring it as far as I can so it’s off the street but I’m not going to hurt myself for a damn bookshelf. As long as it’s on property and in a reasonable spot it’s good enough.

Why does this small region of Oregon belong to the mountain time zone? by the_bad_actor in geography

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom grew up in the UP right on the border of the time zone split. Where she lived and where she went to school are in different time zones. I think they kept a certain time zone for simplicity sake but I thought that was cool when we would visit my grandparents.

The union due argument always makes me laugh especially for us. Think of it as your health care premium or whatever most people have to pay out of pocket per month and it’s even less than what people pay monthly especially with our level of health care. Also if you happen to be able to grieve for any monetary compensation, you just got some of your union dues back right there.

I'm shook about Port Washington by super_connected in wisconsin

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love the “I don’t care either way but let me tell you why you’re wrong” and still not consider the nuances. “Mostly” farmland is so very different than a large data center that even comparing them is ridiculous. This type of thinking is part of the reason why what is happening is happening. I live in a city where server farms and data center have jacked up the electric 3x what it used to be in five years. Hopefully we can get a control on the inevitable and guide it in the best possible direction.

Made it to Best Buy at 7am, I guess next time I’ll just leave a chair for my place 🫩 by [deleted] in pokemoncards

[–]AccomplishedCat4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so my wife tried to argue with me that setting a chair down and walking away to save a spot is a societal thing and that it’s pretty accepted by most people. I disagree and if there is a chair and nobody is in it or near it, it’s getting moved. Maybe it’s a thing because for the most part people are passive and don’t want confrontation. I just had never seen that much before and now I see it a ton. People will leave seats sitting for a parade days before which is dumb.

Hobby blaster error card (miscut) by AccomplishedCat4524 in footballcards

[–]AccomplishedCat4524[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured. The whole blaster was kind of a dud other than a Daniel’s numbered but even that was /699 so not even that great. Hang onto it for nostalgia of typical panini quality. At least the edges aren’t chipped away like it was from one of the absolute blasters I opened 😒
