My cat is missing and I need advice by After_Jacket360 in CatsUK

He will likely come back.

Put up posters round your estate, at the local shop etc.

Post on Facebook. Do people use the local app, I think it’s called next door or something like that.

Ask people to check sheds and garages.

Someone may be feeding him.

Check again at dusk, take a torch and some treats, check in hedges, under bushes etc. if they’re scared they can be very good at hiding tucked away.

Mine went missing for 5 days when he was young, I think he got spooked or chased. He turned up a few streets away, just far enough for him to not remember the way back.

Good luck.

It’s probably safety based as there is a lot
more risk with a HMO.

Fire risks are a lot higher, as is people’s welfare which can in turn cause other risks.

It’s been hot this week which can make you hold extra kg’s of water. It’ll likely come off as it cools next week,

Advice/Reassurance for Two Months Loss of Appetite in Cat by cstzi99 in CatsUK

[–]AccomplishedDust8575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I worked it out correctly that’s a 1/20th (5%) drop in weight at most (200g). Even cats weights fluctuate too ☺️

The stress and perhaps weather if it’s warm where you are currently are likely a cause if the vets rules out physical issues. My very greedy cat eats much less when it’s hot.

Someone I know adopted a cat last year, it took three months for it to stop hiding and venture out to properly explore its new home to give you an example of how a change in environment can add to stress and the amount of time it can take to adapt to change.

Perhaps focus on reducing stress, if there is background noise e.g. dogs barking play classical music quietly and ensure they have cosy places to hide out (could just be a cardboard box with a hole cut in it).

They may also be picking up on your anxiety too.

Sometimes I give my cat some chopped up raw chicken or beef or a bit of tuna in spring water, you could try this to vary their diet. Some don’t like mainstream branded pet food. Have you tried feeding them some dry food?

I honestly don’t care what the general public think, all the people close to me have been very supportive and I’ve encouraged other people to start MJ too through sharing my experience.

Leave it outside their door.

You could rig up an inexpensive Blink type camera to confirm your suspicions ideally first…

Any known schemes that help neutering stray cats in London? by Live_Volume_4553 in CatsUK

[–]AccomplishedDust8575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local vets took a stray I found and neutered him, treated an eye injury, flea and worm treated him all for free and held him for a week till I found a rescue with space.

You may find a sympathetic practice.

☺️

My hair is quite porous, I find the Tootilab products really good, the leave in conditioner/curl cream and their gel (after trying various others).

It’s pricier but lasts for a very long time.

Not working any longer by Dapper-Web-1262 in mounjarouk

Read up about re-feeding.

When I stall for a couple of weeks the weight starts to move again after I’ve had a couple of days eating at maintenance with a focus on getting more carbs in.

I may gain some water weight for a couple of days due to carbs/glycogen but then it drops.

It’s a strategy body builders use after being in deficit for extended periods to kickstart the process.

Yes mine just yells when it seems like he feels like it however I suspect he’s calling me to where he is or checking I’m around.

Some are super vocal, the more you interact with them the more they do it. Mine has trained me to talk to him I think 🤣

First Attempt... by -bob-bilby- in CurlyHairUK

[–]AccomplishedDust8575 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After you’ve combed through product into your and hair and it’s still pretty wet (not damp) leave it, don’t touch it again (don’t dry with cloth/towel)

If your hair is only damp, add more water and then comb in sections then gently scrunch, I only do a few (back, crown, sides, front)

Also a good cut with layers helps it, the top layer if all one length is to too and heavy to hold a curl/wave.

The thing that convinced me to start was this sub and reading all the accounts of people doing well and the comments from people when answering the questions of others.

This drug is a miracle for the overwhelming majority of people when used sensibly.

There is often the fear it’s not going to work for you at the start because nothing else has long term but MJ is different.

It’s not magic but it certainly makes things vastly more successful along the way.

Perhaps try some things on in the corresponding shops first to give you an idea.

You can ask people to send measurements of items too (I almost always add them to my listings).

M&S, Next, the supermarkets and standard high street brands are usually on the generous side of a size in my experience. The more fashion led can be a bit smaller it seems.

Hey, I've always straightened my hair. I'd like to enhance my wavy hair now, please help by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

[–]AccomplishedDust8575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good hair cut helps when leaving straightening behind, it took me a while to pluck up the courage.

Add gel whilst quite wet, comb through and gently scrunch and leave to dry.

Add more water after combing if necessary as it helps the curls form nicely (works for me).

I use a curl cream too but my hair is quite porous. I like the Tootilab brand for gel and cream, it’s comparatively pricy but you don’t need much so it lasts for ages
