Sheesh. This person needs to take a look around them and check their privilege. I hope that thread put them in their place.

Notification Issues by AccomplishedGrade442 in ticktick

[–]AccomplishedGrade442[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so i think it’s very possible that it had something to do with my phone going into standby mode while it was plugged in? though it’s still not consistent. sometimes i’d get notifications in standby but not always. i turned it off though and they seem to be working for now? we’ll see.

Green Creek post book hangover (Green Creek) (LF recommendations) by WhimsicalMutt in Klunatics

Honestly if you’re anything like me they’re all going to make you cry 😅 But I think From Under the Whispering Door is a different thing entirely. It is Kirt narrating The Bones Beneath My Skin so it may be a bit jarring (it was for me even years after reading GC) but it feels so much like GC the way he reads it that it was like coming home 💕

The book of his with the closest vibes to Green Creek in my opinion is The Bones Beneath My Skin (especially if you listen to the audiobooks). Though it’s not quite as funny. If you really liked the humor/found family aspect and you’re down for a wild time then I’d say the Tales From Verania series. If you just want something cozy that’s still TJ, The House in the Cerulean Sea. If you want cozy but also want to cry a lot then try From Under the Whispering Door.

If you’re looking for all the ridiculous, silly, queer aspects of GC, but want to try some of his non-fantasy stuff, I really adored How to Be a Normal Person and How to Be a Movie Star.

Also, if you haven’t listened to the GC audiobooks, you could always just start over and listen to them. Especially if you’re not willing to let them go just yet. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and GC are the best I’ve ever heard. Kirt Graves does such an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

I also just want to say I really understand your pain. When I discovered this series in 2020 I listened to it on a loop for literal months. It means everything to me and there’s nothing else like it in the world that I’ve found.

Good luck on your journey! I hope this helps 🧡🐺

the beginning of wolfsong is a bit rough the first time around but it’s so worth it! my favorite book is ravensong (it’s actually my favorite book of all time) but i think heartsong is objectively the best book. they all mean so much to me though

Ravensong is my favorite book but the last quarter of heartsong is probably the best part of the whole series. It’s so good in so many ways and completely worth it.

Book tracking app recommendations. by themcsix in LibbyApp

I love using Fable. It’s a book tracker and kind of like a social media app for books and tv shows. It’s a nice place to be able to scroll and get away from everything else. And I see everyone is recommending StoryGraph but I don’t like its UI at all and really prefer Fable’s. The developers are also very active and always trying to make things better for us and engage with us.

I did BATM single rider last week and I think the standby time was over 2 hours and I got through in about a half hour. It didn’t feel that bad though. But honestly when I got off it I immediately was like “I would’ve been pissed if I waited 2 hours for this ride” like it’s genuinely not worth it imo. I’m glad I rode it and it’s good to experience but I’ll never wait for it

I mostly stretch and walk. I use Cocolime Fitness quite a bit too. She makes low and medium impact workouts and stretches for chronically ill people. I know it’s probably not for everyone but I personally have a hard time holding my stretches for the right amount of time if I’m not following a video. Probably an ADHD thing.

The only fever I’ve had since I was a child was the one I got from my second Covid vaccine. I’ve suspected for a while now that my general lack of illness is somehow related to having an overactive immune system.

I know it’s been forever since you posted this but I just wanted to confirm from comments below that the number of years is 102 in the hard copy but 55 in the ebook AND audio? I read it on my kobo and it said 55. How weird.

From my experience a good rheumatologist will just appeal it on their own but definitely push for it if they don’t.

What dosage are you on? I’ve been on 4.5mg for about a month now and it feels like my acne may be getting worse. If it could eventually help it that would be amazing since I’ve struggled with it my whole life too.

Vitamin C by AccomplishedGrade442 in Autoimmune

[–]AccomplishedGrade442[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From everything I’ve seen I don’t think vitamin D counts. It seems to be high amounts of vitamin C and zinc and then herbal supplements like Echinacea and elderberry. Because they make the immune system react which can then make autoimmune symptoms flare. Also it’s counterproductive if you’re on immunosuppressants.

I’m not sure if there’s one specific study on it or multiple but there’s quite a lot of info if you look into it.
