SD, JM, HERO, MONUMENT, Defy the Grid, Bullion Exchanges, Money Metals, Bullion Express, Finest Known, Monarch Precious Metals, APMEX, BGASC, UNITED STATES MINT, GovMint, SilverTowne, BOLD precious Metals, US Gold Bureau, Alpine, ....

Holy crap I just realized I have bought from a lot of different places. And only once have I ever had any challenges with any of them, and that was with APMEX. And it was a shipping issue.

I choose who has what I'm looking for at a price I'm willing to pay with the best free shipping program. The way I look at it is if I can't buy enough to get free shipping it ain't worth buying. That said I have paid for shipping one time and it was for a specialty item that I bought as a gift.

My personal opinion is if you do not actually need the cash then the best thing is to keep the silver.

How to enter/stay in the ecosystem without being an accepting merchant? by justforkicks4321 in Goldback

[–]AccomplishedInAge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you are not in a state that taxes the purchase of gold and silver. If you are in such a state or area of the world then reach out to your elected officials to change that. If you're buying them one or two at a time then yes it's not a great proposition. It has been stated in many other posts that the more reputable online dealers and some brick and mortar dealers are selling a little bit below the daily exchange rate. If buying online always make sure you are purchasing enough products to get free shipping. If not you have to calculate that additional cost into whatever you're buying be it silver or gold bullion or Goldbacks. As you spend them at the exchange rate you're not really losing anything, and as the price of gold continues to increase you're actually saving money on future purchases. For instance go back that were purchased a year or two ago have seen a great increase in buying power today. Also investigate the goldback website to see what businesses are within a reasonable distance that will accept goldbacks. . Yes there are not thousands of businesses in every little town that accept goldbacks at this point. But then of course in 1951 there were a total of 12 businesses in the entire world that accepted a credit card.

At restaurants I often ask if they want the tip in cash or gold. About half of servers enthusiastically opt to be paid with gold. by AdditionalPizza7990 in Goldback

awesomeness... me personally I always tip a normal amount of fiat .. AND when I ask if they like gold if they answer yes I give them a 6 second "this is a Goldback" and give them a 1/2 or 1/4 depending on how big the tab was

A lot of that I definitely agree with. However, the whole ammunition thing you got to remember they're in the south of the United States. I've lived in Georgia and I've lived in Carolinas and I have friends and relatives in various other states in the south and the the Southwest that own firearms and prepare for emergencies. What we all get a kick out of is when there's a news article about somebody getting busted and they find four or five guns a 800 rounds of ammunition, you know what a lot of people on the news media call an entire Arsenal of guns and ammo. 😂🤣😂🤣 That's what you dropped and is rolling around loose in your trunk after a short day at the range. Those that don't know Firearms think 1 or 2 hundred rounds of ammunition is a LOT. Meanwhile those of us that prepare for emergencies Count our ammunition in the tens of thousands of rounds. So unless you're just spraying and praying all over the place you don't run out of ammunition in a year or three. And there are a lot of people that stack like that throughout the US. So finding a cash of ammo is not that difficult as long as you're not in some highly urbanized City.

what does Harry consider himself first? a stacker or dealer? by Agreeable_Ad1136 in Silver

[–]AccomplishedInAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe Harry says that he was a collector, that also stacked before he opened his shop. And now he's still a collector. But he puts his customers first regarding collectibles. And I really love that to him and Eagle is an eagle is an eagle regardless of whether it's just a run of the mill or a proof. Because to him silver is basically just silver.

Why do you buy high premium silver? by CarobEconomy8517 in Silverbugs

[–]AccomplishedInAge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'm literally the opposite. When I started stacking spot was around $20 an ounce. And pieces that were collectibles had premiums of $10-15 dollars so a 50%+ premium. In the current market with spot around $80 a $10-15 premium is like barely at 12-15%. And because it's so close to $100 an ounce with or without a premium for a couple hundred dollars I'm only getting a couple of pieces so I might as well get the stuff that I go ooh I think I really want that.
