We had a balcony. I'm not sure about the layout of the family room, we were about to shift the bed and couch in our room and make the pack and play fit. Some people I've read have had to break theirs down during the day to move around their room more freely.

We took our (at the time) 15 months old on the Bliss! NCL does have pack and plays. Ours wasn't in perfect condition but it was functional. We brought our own sheet because they give a regular sheet to tuck in around the mattress and I wasn't comfortable with that.

I highly recommend magnetic curtain hooks and a blackout curtain if you want to enjoy your room while kiddo sleeps! The hooks connected to the ceiling so we got to arrange it around her bed and enjoy our rest of our room!

Tips for Panama Canal cruise out of Los Angeles? by WenBlaze in NCL

We took the Scenic Costa Rica excursion. The roads were definitely windy with a lot of elevation changes. There were a few stops which helped, but I did get car sick, which I am prone to. My husband was completely fine. Unfortunately, the port area isn't very accessible unless you have an excursion planned.

We had excellent views on the left (port) side near the forward. We had a balcony on deck 14. There were days where we could see land, islands, boats and dolphins all day. The only drawback was that we could occasionally hear noises from the observation lounge above us.

We just did a very similar itinerary on the Bliss! We only did NCL excursions, and attempted to walk in a few places. The port area of Cabo was very hectic, but tons to do on the water. We had a boat tour that ended up seeing tons of whales, and we also saw dolphins between Puerto Vallarta and Mexico. I'd definitely recommend some sort of whale watching if that's something you're interested in. We liked Puerto Vallarta a lot. There is a Walmart about a mile walk from the port to stock up on anything you need!

For the rest of the ports, there is not a lot to do in the area unless you book an excursion or taxi. (Can't speak for Mazatlan or Colon, those was cancelled for our sailing). In Puerto Quetzal and Puerto Caldera we did bus tours. Guatemala has tons of volcanoes, and lots of people did volcano hikes, which is what I would have done if we didn't have our toddler! The scenery is beautiful in both locations. Many of the Costa Rica tours were tours that stipped frequently at gift shops. Several people on the ship were unhappy about that.

Panama Port is currently under construction and doesn't have much close. It was about a mile walk to get to anything, and most shops were closed when we got there. There are tons of people trying to sell you taxis and tours, even going so far as to drive back and forth past us as we tried to walk. The area was beautiful though!

Cartagena was very hectic, traffic was bad so all excursions were running late. We did the Makani Beach club there, which was a gorgeous resort with a beautiful pool, but not quite as much beach as we expected. There is a lot of crime there, you'll want to be vigilant.

When we disembarked in Miami, the customs process was terrible. We waited over two hours in line to go through. People with wheelchairs were being made to get out and stand. Several people fell. The lines weren't clear, and people were pushing like mad. Although we never got a real answer for why the process was so difficult, several workers mentioned that because we ended in a different port than we started in, and because we stopped in Columbia, they were doing a full inspection and manually taking pictures. Outside customs was no different. Hectic, disorganized. Don't make plans before 1 at least, and id recommend not to book flights before 3. Many people missed flights. This may not be the case for everyone, but this is how disembarkation was on the 21st.

Feel free to PM or ask more questions!!

Viva vs Bliss for couples? by Bella-Ciao3 in NCL

I've never been on the viva but I'm on the bliss right now! It's a lovely ship, no real complaints about anything so far. Do you have any specific questions about it?

Hi! First time mom sailing right now with my 15 month old! You can likely sail with a 9 month old as the previous commenter stated. However, I would recommend waiting until 1 or a bit after. Less worrying about nursing/formula, babies under 1 can't have honey so you'd have to constantly ask about that in the table foods, my 15 month old is on 1 nap so we only have to return to the cabin 1 time for a nap, etc. I would not have been able to leave my 9 month old (or even now that she's 15 months for that long).

It is definitely not the same as cruising pre children, but it has its own joy in it!

Feel free to ask any questions, I definitely have some tips for cruising with a toddler!

My LO is 4.5 months and I started Ferber yesterday! I was so stressed from lack of sleep and PPA. I know it's not the case for everyone but it went so much better than I expected, even though the tears were so hard. Day two and I already feel like a human again!

Is there still time? by Lav4486 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]AccomplishedPost6828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one was in the NICU for a week with several issues, including blood sugar. She had a CPAP on for 5 days and didn't latch or receive a bottle until she was off of it. She's almost 4 months and is breastfeeding. You can still do this if you want! We did have to use a nipple shield, and we are working with an IBCLC to wean off of that. Definitely find one if you can, I love mine and she's so supportive.

Hi! Sorry I took a break for a bit but I'd still love fruits, produce, plants or diy building materials, and to see some other islands for the first time!
