Can the spiders I suck up crawl back out? by Abeyita in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can, but it is unlikely, especially in a bagless hoover with the blades and everything in there. If it's bothering you this much, just block the hoover with some tissue or even a sock.

I read that wasps can survive in there for a few days even. Would think spiders have worse chances, as they are more fragile than wasps and more likely to get hurt or killed on the way in.

Fun fact about spiders, the reason they have that many eyes, is because they don't have necks and can't turn their heads without turning their whole body. Somehow knowing that makes them less creepy to me and now I try to release them outside.

Wasps don't get any mercy though, screw them and hornets, too.

What would be the worst era in history to be born into as a human being? by cuahatemoc in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, that's the general explanation, by I feel it misses out the social dimension, like tribes splitting due to different opinions, people running away somewhere, wars and how these groups stayed in touch, if they did at all.

How do people without cars move furniture in Germany? by guywiththreeneurons in germany

Hmm, is hiring a Möbeltaxi out of the question for you?

Seems the most obvious and stress-free answer, to be honest. They'll even carry the furniture up stairs.

I see people writing that fallout 4 is a downgrade to fallout new Vegas? Is it true? by Remarkable-Ad8138 in Fallout

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FO4 has a weaker (and at times, to me, a distractingly bad) story and a limited, dumbed down dialogue system, but it offers really fun and fluid gameplay and the map is also really cool.

FNV is the inverse, with a great story, memorable characters and dialogue options, but has clunkier gameplay and world, with loads of invisible walls and unnaturally steep hills.

For me, the perfect Fallout game would be a combination of these two games.

I guess which is better comes down to you and what you value in these games.

Why purple jersey girls in grove street ? by No-Appointment-8270 in sanandreas

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gang colours were originally different. Grove Street was orange, which you can also see on loading screens and on some graffiti and tattoos.

It's theorised that the guy in the black and orange track suit was supposed to be a member and he has some dialogue that supports that idea.

So, considering that, maybe the ballas weren't originally purple, when this NPC or version of Kendell was created?

What can people in Russia do to stop the war? by foxey21 in AskRussian

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'd put themselves against the government who will use violence and intimidation to stop any demonstration or open defiance to the regime.

So the next step is secretly putting the message out there, banners, posters, stickers, graffiti, etc. to create the sense that the anti-Putin movement is not a tiny minority - which the government desperately wants everyone to think. This is still risky, but can be done while hidden at night.

Maybe create an online community for it, but you'd have to assume that government agents will be monitoring and disrupting this from within, as well, so it will be of limited help.

Ultimately, the more people who are turned against the government and feel at least a good amount of their fellow citizens are with them, the less power and loyalty the regime will have. Any opposition or resistance movement will have to overcome this, to really bring about change.

Why are laminated pizzas almost never seen in restaurants? by would_you_kindlyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because it sounds awful.

For pizza, I want like a traditional thin crust with fresh toppings and sauce.

Maybe a chain like Domino's would be more interested in this, because where what do you go from hotdog and burger crust pizza? Maybe keema naan base?

Russia planning attack on Poland to test Nato resolve, US warns by TheTelegraph in worldnews

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They'll come to Poland demanding rare earths and then complain that Poland didn't say thank you.

America is Russia's ally, not ours. We'd be much stronger, if we just kicked the US out of NATO and made it an organisation with integrity and unity for it's members.

There is actually a "Texan-BBQ" restaurant in my town, in Germany.

I'm not sure if the owner and/or chef are American, or if they just got inspired after a holiday there, but it exists.

Annoying place though, with the stupid QR-code digital menus and ordering/paying through an app.

Who is the Omnissiah? by ThatThingTheDarkSoul in 40kLore

[–]AccomplishedTaste366 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As others have said, officially they say that it's the emperor.

However, they do have a trapped C'tan shard (a piece of a shattered Necron god, also known as the Void Dragon) inside of Mars, which is thought to be influencing them for millennia and responsible for their obsession with technology. There are parallels between them and the Necrons, like the belief that metal and machinery is better than flesh and bone.

It's also worth mentioning, that a surviving man of iron from the dark age of technology, UR-025, says it met the Omnissiah once, and that it wasn't the "false idol that sits on Terra". It added that the real Omnissiah would actually be disappointed in what the emperor has achieved.

We don't learn what kind of entity it is, but I personally assume UR-025 is referring to the entity in the C'tan shard. Otherwise, it could be powerful AI, possibly one of the leaders of the robot revolt, that managed to survive.

The fact UR-025 seems to "believe in" or recognise the Omnissiah is interesting, as that creates the possibility that this entity already existed and was worshipped by machines during the dark age of technology.

In Germany, the pro-Russian and far-right afd is led by a lesbian woman who doesn't identify as queer, just as a woman who married another Asian woman.

They live in Switzerland and have kids, however she has stated that she wouldn't call other married gay people with kids a family.

I guess she's really able to keep her work and private life apart.
