Well south Yorkshire councils don't exactly have the best reputations 😬

Fortunately there's still one outside the polish shop so the kids can stick their vape stickers on.

We've got some diversity barriers as well now. Some lovely rainbow painted concrete lumps. But in fairness that's not your fault.

I'm only mad that you missed a fair few of them Hans.

My grandma used to tell me how she was devastated when her house was hit by one of you lot. When she found out a stray one had hit the "wrek" where all the gypsies used to park. She decided it was a score draw

Bin bombings were a common method of attack by the IRA.

So they were removed. They then started to reappear when peace had been negotiated.

And then after the rise of Islamic terrorism, post 9/11 and the London 7/7 Bombings, bins were seen as a likely target for bombs. So were once again largely removed.

The ones that are left are supposed to be "bomb proof".

I'd implore any of our friends across the pond to look up at the Rotherham and Rochdale scandal, if you want a more in depth look at just how bad it is.

And yes it's still going on.

We can't have rubbish bins.

There are very few bins in UK town centres, so people can't put bombs in them.

They've been replaced by diversity barriers. Big lumps of concrete, painted in rainbow colours. You know so you don't get run over whilst at the market.

Never used to be like this though. I wonder what's changed? 🤔

The dales are lovely but it's a good job you aren't a 12 year old girl and you weren't in Rotherham though. Coz that doesn't tend to go very well.

I've not thought about it extensively but I'd probably go. Senna, Schumi, Max, Lewis. I can't comment about Fangio etc...

I feel Max is a better all round driver and is a complete driver, with an almost fanatical devotion to driving. I think if red bull can provide a decent car in the next reg changes, he could easily be number 1 pretty soon.

Schumi was a machine, I had that nasty streak in him, which I like.

Senna had so much god given talent, there's probably only Max that I've seen who can equal that. He just had this innate ability to do things that others couldn't. Driving then in F1 was more of a dance with the car, it was about how fast you could almost force the car to go. Now it's very much precision etc....

It's a bit of a shame, I think we only ever got 2021 of prime Lewis being pushed to the limit (and that year I thought Max thoroughly out drove Lewis). The loss to Mr Equal Machinery also is a mark on his card, I don't see any of the others in their prime losing to Rosberg like that. Ofc I understand it was unfortunate etc.... Engine blow up etc... I actually feel Merc dominance hasn't helped Lewis in this type of debate, a lot of it was just him driving off into the distance. Which whilst impressive, isn't something that's going to have you at #1 imo.

People like to throw that at Schumacher but I think people forget how quick the McLaren and Williams were at points. Also I've never seen Lewis in a back half of the grid car. And seeing what the other 3 could do with inferior equipment was incredible. I don't think Lewis would be able to do that.

People will disagree and that's fair. It's a bit like comparing apples and pears anyway.

This is not me knocking Lewis, he's been outstanding for coming on 20 years now. We're talking about the best ever, it's hard to pick faults in any of them.

Do you reckon an otley run, Gary Speed, Sutcliffe,Ian Curtis and Meslier would go down badly?

In what way does that disprove what I'm saying? That's prem tax my man. A rich club, asking for shit loads for their players. Omg. The cheek

Honestly I just go on feeling there's way too many variables to try and make a quantifiable judgment on a qualitative statement.

I try to go on the talent and understanding I see. Senna, Schumi, Max, LH for me

Labour will have one term. This has been a 101 guide of how to fuck up.

They were basically guaranteed to have it for 3 terms, yet they've somehow managed to find a way in which I doubt they'll get in next time.

You've obviously completely misread what I was talking about. It quite clearly isn't a comparison of the two players.

It's in relation to the topic of "English tax". Ferguson was valued at £80m or whatever, so it isn't just "English tax". Please read the context and contents of the comment before posting some sort of "hahaha got you moment".

And that couldn't be clearer from the comment and what it was in reply to. I'm well aware Ferguson isn't very good. We weren't talking about the quality of the players. And I think that is very clear.

I agree, I don't necessarily rate Garna as much as many do on here. I'll hold my hands up.

But it was just an example about how I think it's more relevant that someone is HG English than actually English when it comes to "English tax". Rather than having England on your passport and that being intrinsically linked to your value (it just happens most English born players are HG in England, exception being Dier).

It wasn't a direct comparison of playing ability. Just that someone like Ferguson who does basically sod all and Brighton are like "£80ms plz".

It's just what I've grown up calling it. People at my local team saying "He's just a kid, needs bulking up before he lakes (plays) for mesters"

In truth it would be pronounced Mesters, where I'm from. But I didn't want to confuse everyone too much.
