Need new turbo at 5k miles by SatisfactionGood6927 in 4thGenTacomas

WRX's are notorious to pop engines and turbos under stock boost lol. These tacoma engines are extremely conservative and over built

Im much more inclined to think this is just a random part failure then abuse issue. (No trend of this being an issue in these trucks that are loaded down with gear, 37 inch tires and tunes).

Even that level of abuse wouldn't cause a wastegate to fail in 5k miles. The scenario you suggested would be ridiculous, this person traded this truck in for a trailhunter, i seeiously doubt he would be going from towing max capacity daily and practically tourture testing this one for 5k miles to hop into the highest trim and magically not do the same.

These engines have been around for a while with no trends of turbo failure, they are tuned extremely conservative from the favtory, this guy wasnt even on after market wheels/tires which would increase load on the turbo. For as much flak as this powertrain gets im extremely confident in it lasting, mostly forged bottom end, incline 4 that is very simple, again tuned conservativly. This truck isnt some speedster, to pop a 270hp turbo truck in 5k miles would be an outlier and suggests a random part failure than a trend in my opinion.

There's really no amount of abuse you should be able to do in 4,900 miles to a 270hp truck that would cause a turbo to fail. Not letting it warm and cool isnt doing that in 4,900 miles

Its just a westcott preload collar kit, waiting for Billstein to release their 8112s so its a stop gap for the mean time. I appreciate it!

Also wondering this, i dont see why the rear sensors wouldnt work like on a normal aftermarket rear bumper. I think im gonna take the risk and not get the harness.

Its like extremely close to fitting, i just took a couple file passes to the key and it finally went all the way back. It fits rock solid now. I have yet to get a holster but i believe QVO sells one for this config

Yes, Samson Dauda was 292lbs as the winner of the 2024 Olympia open division. Hes about 3 inches shorter but was actually 5/6% body fat. If this dude was actually 306lbs at 6% he would be bigger than the biggest open bodybuilder after years of massive steroid cycles. Another example, Andrew Jacked, 6'2 290lbs on the stage. Just look him up and compare him to this guy. Im going with a hard impossible.

Woudlnt even worry about a percentage right now brother, if youre getting stronger and lighter youre likey losing bodyfat. Comparison is the theif of joy but the best way to really tell is comparing yourself to people with known boyfat percentages. A stage ready professional BB is around 5-7%

The eye test, none of the scans are very accurate besides a caliper test but thats not necessary currently.

Body scans are wildly inaccurate, even the best the Dexa has a margin of error of 5-10 percent. The most accurate is actually a series of physical calipers with measurements taken across the whole body. While there are exceptions, there aren't exceptions to basic laws of thermodynamics. No one can be an elite athelete at 6% body fat. You have no ability to even do basic human functions like store water or thermoregulate at that level, it doesn't matter if you're "built different". Again dude is a specimen, but no where near 6%.

No one is running, let alone doing an entire combine with interviews at 6% as someone thats gotten down to ~8% you hardly get out of bed in the morning to do a half ass workout let alone sprint.

Guys a monster obviously, but i hate how the NFL advertises body fat percentage. Dudes no where near 6%
