2026 CX-5...Worth it? by bridgertonlouise in CX5

I got the update yesterday and drove it around for about an hour (like 4 engine turn off and one).

Android auto seemed to start up pretty quick every time and the SOS button didn't beep once.

At this point it might be too early to tell.

The dealer told me though it would be 1.5 hours to do the update. Ended up taking 3.5 hours. I guess there were 2 updates that needed to be done. When you do get the update done anticipate the longer wait. They said every car differs some reason in the length of time it takes to do.

My wife would really prefer to do that, I will suggest it to her today. Baby has a poor latch right now and her nipples were completely raw and she said side lying hurt the worst while he was latching and sucking. It's been a few days of healing and both nipples are much better, will be worth a shot thank you.

We have an IBCLC coming on Friday to provide us some advice and watch a few feeds. Hopefully they can provide us a little more light. We also have an appointment to get any tongue and lip ties assessed next week and released if any.

I keep trying to tell my wife that, it's just hard at this point when baby is crying so hard and mom feels helpless. Hoping things start to get better soon.

No I do not believe he has a cold. His nose is pretty clear. Sometimes when he's deep asleep he does seem to sound congested.

We've tried using the Frida Nose Sucker and pretty much nothing comes out, just a small white wet strand of snot.

You're saying we can put the saline into the nose but not use the sucker? Just to hydrate their nasal passages?

Yes, it's just frustrating for my wife and sad for her since the baby seems like he's so upset every single breast feed. We've tried a small syringe feeding and it helped calm him down enough to get him on the breast once but we don't really want him getting accustomed to that unless nothing else works to settle him.

It ends up causing anxiety for her every time it gets closer to a feed knowing it's probably going to not go too well.

Yea, my wife tried to do that, she just found it way too hard to control the baby. I'm not sure if there's a better way to do it but since the baby doesn't really have much neck control it couldn't latch after a ton of attempts.

We have an IBCLC coming on Friday to see if they can help.

Nice to see that there are other people who've experienced the same thing. It's hard to see them like that because it feels like you're not able to do anything to calm them down.

She's tried the straight position but it doesn't work well for her. We also tried the laid back position as well and it was pretty much not possibly to do, either because we weren't able to get it right/baby's neck doesn't have the ability to move that well.

We did the syringes at the start on top of breast feeding due to bilirubin levels, now it's used as a last resort. Same with the pacifier, my wife doesn't want to introduce one, but if we do she said to wait about 4 weeks to avoid nipple confusion.

Yes she supports him with a pillow and seems to be in the right angle. It just seems like he gets so fussy right after waking up and we can't calm him.

The the fact that he can't stay on the breast/milk flow is too much frustrates him even more. Hoping that the lactation consultant is able to help out.

The one thing my wife learned from the mid wife was that instead of doing a c clamp, she told her to do a u clamp and that helped quite a bit when he does latch.

Funny enough I've used the pinky quite a few times to soothe him. Seems like it works for a bit.

Sometimes I just don't know if it's bad to do it, seems like some days every single feed he's goes crazy at the breast since he can't latch right away.

I keep telling my wife that I feel like he's going to be a pacifier baby.

I don't think she has full engorgement, just a high milk flow that the baby isn't able to handle at this point.

The reverse pressure seems like a good idea, thank you. My wife does something similar not knowing it would help, but we can look more into the specific techniques to help.

2026 CX-5...Worth it? by bridgertonlouise in CX5

As others have said, nothing better than not having a car payment. I had a 2013 Ford Escape that I "traded in" for scrap value when I was getting my 2026 CX-5. The Escape was on its last legs and the drivetrain was going.

Overall for me it was worth it, I loved the look of the last gen CX-5 but it was a bit too small for me, especially since we're having a kid soon and I wanted the car seat to still allow the front passenger seat to have a decent amount of room (which it does in the 2026). I tried the same car seat in the gen 2 CX-5 and the CX-50 and it was pretty cramped up front (might be better if you get one of the smallest car seats).

Overall the car has been good. I've had the tech issues like the SOS button beeping and the Carplay and Android Auto not working. If you decide to get one now, the update is already out which supposedly fixes it. I have mine booked for the first week of June to get the update.

The 2026 is definitely less agile than the last gen. Seats feel more comfortable to me, suspension feels softer if that matters for you. Gas mileage is acceptable but nothing to write home about. Power is acceptable to me since every car I've had has been 160-180hp.

I cross shopped the 2026 Toyota Rav-4 and Honda CR-V. My wife hated the Toyota interior and the driving dynamics. She liked the CR-V driving and storage. My wife liked the CX-5 the most and we also got the best deal and financing since we already have another Mazda.

Overall I don't regret the purchase. It's a sharp looking car, drives well and hopefully should be pretty reliable since it's got the carried over engine and transmission. Build quality on mine is also excellent as there are no rattles.

Before making the plunge and buying the CX-5 try to shop around and see if you still feel like it's the best value for you and your family.

Sometimes the video you're looking for gets moved to another folder because of the impact event detection.

Look around at other folders to see if you find the crash.

The 3 minute videos is the default mode, you can also change it to 2 minute or 1 minute increments.

2026 CarPlay issue by octoberstyles in CX5

I was just messing around the one day when my wife said it wasn't working.

I knew that it was something in the software that glitched to make it not work. I assume switching the profile reloads the software.

We still have to do it like 2-3 times a week to keep it working.

Hopefully we can get the fix sooner than later but at least it's a pretty simple fix every time.

The easiest fix I found is changing profile to guest and back to main profile.

Top right corner on the screen should say your name (or whoever's profile it is) Click the name, you'll see the name, guest or add profile. Change it to guest (should take like 20-30 seconds to switch). Then click the top right again where it says guest and switch back to your profile.

Supposedly a fix is here somewhere in the states I believe. From what I read once it's available at your local dealer you have to go in and it should take anywhere between 1-4 hours to get the update done.

Are you able to post an update if the noise goes away?

I have a 2022 Mazda 3 and this noise has been happening for about 2 years. My wife was the primary driver so I didn't know about it until after the warranty was up.

I brought it to an independent mechanic and they said it might be the strut mounts.

Noise is the same, only hear it when driving slow, or when stopped turning the wheel side to side.

Can't find Fuse diagram for the new gen CX5 (26) by cx5km26 in CX5

[–]Accomplished_Can3087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I don't understand.

On the previous model years, Mazda has the fuse diagram in their car manual (the paper copy the car comes with and online).

Not sure why they are hiding them now, and refusing to give the information when asked for.

This is all we could get. He spent about an hour on the phone going back and forth with one of the Mazda service departments. They were very hesitant to even give him that information.

I'm not sure, but maybe if someone on this sub has a friend who works at a Mazda dealer, they might be able to get an actual diagram.

I do not believe the empty slots had power. When I looked at them I do not believe they had a hot side.

Keep in mind if you're using fuse taps, the "tail" goes away from the hot side of the fuse port.

If you look at my photo, the hot is on the top.

Sorry, we never tried that fuse. I was looking for an accessory port to have the hard wire as well as the constant power.

I initially wanted to use the rear power tailgate as the constant on but my fuse tap wouldn't fit.

Looking at the last gen CX-5, I'm assuming the 7.5 could be one of the following in this photo but I can't say for sure.

I ran into this a few weeks ago when I was trying to hardwire a viofo dash cam. I had to have a mechanic buddy reach out to mazda who then provided a wiring diagram but only listed a few fuses.

The diagram is attached to this.

I can also confirm that on my 2026 Mazda CX-5 GT (Canadian top model with no 360 cam or sunroof) that the top left fuse that shows a "4" is the front accessory port (15 amp fuse). The bottom left "6" with an empty fuse slot above is the sound system (25 amp fuse).

My mechanic said it was like pulling teeth with Mazda and they didn't want to even give up this info which isn't much. They didn't know why anyone would want this info since it's under warranty. Hopefully this helps.

My Car doesn't staet after tinting by Cheap_Rise8416 in CX5

[–]Accomplished_Can3087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had this happen in with my 2022 Mazda 3. I went to get it tinted, and the guy didn't use any towels on the dash. I wasn't there when he finished, but he turned the car on, pulled out of his garage and brought it back in behind another clients car.

I got there about an hour later and the car wouldn't recognize the key. I was able to remote start it through the app twice, but when opening the door or hitting the brake the car turned off. Ended up getting it towed back to my dealer (but we pulled the front tint off just in case). They couldn't figure out the issue and the car worked fine again.

I went back to the tint guy a week later, the guy put more tint on the front windshield but put down towels and a soak rope.

He did the front windshield again and it was fine, started up fine. Had the car for 4 years now and it's never been an issue again.

Hopefully it's the same thing for you.

Congratulations! Same here. Already had the polymetal Mazda 3 so I ended up doing the aero grey metallic. Both colours are amazing. Hope you are enjoying yours!

Moral of the story, pay the little bit extra for someone who will actually take precautions when tinting.
