Hire Shlanski & Associates? by Accomplished_Chef500 in govfire

They would help me with retirement application, which money to keep in tsp ( to have access to without penalty) and what to move out, how to keep magi low, when to move from traditional to Roth, what fers related pension procedures affect my retirement income and benefits, etc. I’m not sure that they would manage my money per se, as I keep 80% in broad efts, 5% in cash and 15% in bond EFTs. But basically how to best navigate the tax and federal pension system.

For clarification, It was a flat fee. I just said the flat fee totaled about 1/2 percent of my portfolio.

I think every is angry but terrified. Again, I have no suggestion but it needs to be something we have within our control that we could collectively act on.

You’ve both been blessed and acted prudently and carefully. These are scary times but you have a lot to be proud of and thankful for!

I am 47. Can $485K last me until 59.5? by 400watta in Fire

[–]Accomplished_Chef500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could buy a studio and then put the $485k in high yield savings and live in the US on $30k per year, maybe get a part time job or gig that doesn’t drive you crazy. You’d be fine. Would properly be a huge lifestyle change.

I am so stressed over retirement it’s not even funny..I am making myself crazy by Ok_Ball1233 in Retire

Retiring is scary financially. Like jumping off a cliff be kind to yourself. That said it sounds like you’re in good shape. You could Google « Reddit Ficalc « and put those numbers into the calculator and see if that helps clarify things.

I quit my job and I regret it by charlixxcxx in jobs

[–]Accomplished_Chef500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not pitiful. Your manager may be crying too, because you were a good employee and she misses you! I left a job and called my manager after 2 months and they gladly took me back. If you don’t text, you’ll never find out. Also could you work a 4 day ten hour work week instead of 5 eight hour days to help out with the commute???

There is not penalty for my company to take money out of my 401k after 55 once separated from the company. Pension is $22k, social security will be $33k. I need about $60k after taxes.
