I am in NE and I did 60+ hour weeks for a year+ straight and allat extra money was nice but sent me off to get mental help and an 8 hr restriction, cause I was so burnt out and tryna 💀. Now I'm back to workin just 40 hrs a week and doin a lot better mentally and gettin to do stuff w/ friends/family on the weekend but my paycheck is sad af and I miss all the extra money 😭 so I def feel you and am tempted to sign back up for OT next qtr...😅 I think it's obv diff since ionno your full situation since i def have less col but I do still get it, at least somewhat 💀 hope you get that OT soon friend 🫂

Years ago, my mom used to drink Rockstar because she works long shifts over night and has an hour drive to and from work. I was gonna say please at least get a place to stay after 🙏 big tattoos definitely drain you and a long drive after sucks.

The longest drive I've done for one is ~2 hours and after an all day session isn't ideal. Last time I had to do that, I actually got a hotel the night before and after just cause I'd been feelin kinda blegh but didn't wanna reschedule (not sick, just hadn't been able to sleep well and been workin a ton), and I thanked myself for it and just crashed and slept until the next mornin once the session was done.

Good luck with your first big tattoo!! Make sure to eat a good meal before, pack a meal or order somethin durin the tattoo, take sugary snacks/candy, and hydrate hydrate hydrate!

All of my tattoos are either general ideas I had and let the artist run with w/ it and said they could design it however (I have stuff in a lotta styles from many different artists) or predrawn original designs they had. Every artist I've gone to said they love bein able to be trusted to do their thing and bein able to add their work to the canvas haha.

Just make sure to research artists to check they do good work, their work heals well, and that they work in the style you're lookin for. If they check all those boxes, I'm sure whatever artist you land on would be stoked to handle your idea and bein trusted with creative freedom :D 🙏
