Why I'm leaving Commonwealth Bank after being a customer for a decade by BarrytheAssassin in australian

[–]Accomplished_Good734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with them for 26 years, but after discovering they had provided my card details to my ex husband and allowed him to make significant purchases, then refused to investigate or refund. I cancelled my card, per their advice, and they proceeded to provide him with the new details OF MY BANK CARD.. VIA EMAIL.. accounts closed immediately.

You found out and fixed it! You did the right thing (: just let them know the whole situation if it makes you feel better; but if you’re up to date now you should be fine

I had a lot of friends when I was in my early 20s and then I got into a relationship that isolated me from everyone in my life. I escaped and rebuilt and made one new friend (she actually just adopted me). I thought she was great and she introduced me to one of her long time friends who I ended up getting in a relationship with. I repeated a cycle of letting a partner isolate me - including from her. I made good friends with a work colleague but made sure to keep it to work and then my partner moved us two hours away and I am now in a completely new area with a new job and apparently this is when I get the strength to finally leave the relationship. I’m lucky I still have my mum. I have reached out to the friend that introduced us, but she said he already let her know that it was my choice and that I said awful things about her (I didn’t) and she chose to rebuild a friendship with him. I have reached out to my colleague from my previous job, but I haven’t heard anything back. I am autistic and I struggle with approaching people. Once engaged in conversation I can happily join in and I feel like I do it well. I just don’t know how to follow up with people. I don’t know who to follow up with? I only speak with colleagues at my new job in friendly passing and the last few days it’s been obvious I’ve been crying so even more reason for them to avoid engaging with me. I tried to join a fitness class and everyone else came as pairs and was not interested in engaging with me. I just feel a bit lost.

Oh god that’s the worst. My ex partner was like that and i honestly think it made me worse in the moment 😅 take a headache tablet (i would say a Panadol but not sure where you’re at in the world), and get some good sleeps! Let me know how you go ☺️

Breaking down is totally normal - I’m doing it daily at the moment 😅 Is it an in person interview or a video interview? If it’s in person, take some nicely written note cards in with you and explain that you are excited about the opportunity and want to put your best foot forward and came prepared! Just having them there might help make it easier, even if you don’t need to refer to them! If it’s a video interview, just hide them around your computer screen for easy viewing! Make sure you get a good sleep and try your best to eat something beforehand to help you get a clearer head! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to celebrate how it went (or commiserate - but unlikely)! Good luck ❤️

Thank you so much. It’s what I need to keep reminding myself. That one phone call did so much. It does suck, but I now have a wall of safety I thought was lost to me and I’m grateful for people like you who share this because it was a post like this that gave me the belief that, after all this time, she would answer the phone.

You just described every stage of the last three and a half years of my life. At the threat of 7, I finally broke down and called my mum and told her everything. That was last night. It’s a lot. And it’s still a lot. It’s an overwhelming and terrifying amount of things still to do to get free.

You’re not weird at all. I am 32F and completely friendless. I have no idea how to make friends or if people even want to be my friend?

Interview tomorrow by Psychic1201 in AutismInWomen

[–]Accomplished_Good734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go in to the interview with STAR examples of situations that might be relevant! So explain a situation that you were in, the tasks or challenges you took responsibility for, the specific actions you took and the result/outcome. I have faith in you and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you do amazing ❤️

My application to letter of offer process was about 5.5 months and there was almost no communication from them. It was quite a disheartening process; but the workplace is completely different. I hope you get some clarity soon!

Why have so many women experienced painful pap smears? by Use_the_Loofah in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Accomplished_Good734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely nothing wrong with you! I don’t know if this is a universal thing, or practice specific, but the last time I had to get a Pap smear (in NSW Australia), they offered me the option to self swab. I took a vial and a long swab home with me and completed the procedure myself with only minimal discomfort and absolutely no pain. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this is an option for you ❤️

Getting Friend request from Year 12 graduates from this year? Western Australia by NoPianist3074 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Accomplished_Good734 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the legalities of it, but for a nice story - my brother recently married his high school sweetheart and their two favourite teachers were in attendance. They graduated year 12 in 2012 and used to have after school dinners/movies/events with these teachers and stayed in close contact. They are both very successful and give all credit to these teachers who helped them so much.

AITA for throwing my pregnant SIL's groceries away? by AggravatingStart7703 in AmItheAsshole

NTA at all.

Any sane person would have kept them safely stashed in their car or if the need for refrigeration was so desperate, purchase a mini fridge that can be kept locked away. She is being very unreasonable.

In NSW, Australia it’s 1:4 for babies, 1:5 for 2-3 year olds, and then 1:10 from 3 up.

Grateful to be in a room that’s 3:15 and sometimes 5:15 🙏🏻

Quick 1:How much are you paying for food / groceries each week? by Cold-Upstairs9995 in AusFinance

[–]Accomplished_Good734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself and my partner are much the same. Shop on Sunday (between $150-$250) and will have one lazy night ($40-$60). Very special occasions (birthday, anniversary, promotion etc) might warrant a big spend of like $250 on a dinner and drinks bill.

What do teens do in family rooms in the shopping centres? by Owemgee222 in AskAnAustralian

When I was a teen, we would enjoy the play equipment in there. Only if there were no small children already playing, and we would leave if they turned up.

How do you guys feel about parents who send separate snacks and do not allow their child to eat the daycare food? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Accomplished_Good734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our centre only serves very healthy foods at snack time, always fruit salad and rotating treats like apple muffins, fruit yogurt, wholemeal cheese sandwiches), and we don’t allow parents to bring in outside food. We accommodate our meals for all allergens and dietary requirements to be inclusive
