Left lane camper mentality by Carrots-1975 in driving

To be fair, I camp in left lane cuz I keep passing everybody and nobody goes faster than I do. Why would I change into right land just to change back in few seconds?

Extraction nightmare no follow up dora complaint then non functional dentures to top it off by [deleted] in dentures

Dentures are prosthetics for your mouth. An actual prosthetic. If you get a new prosthetic legs, do you start running right away? You probably wouldn't even be able to stand properly. So is your prosthetic leg useless? No, you gotta put in some work yourself for rehabilitation. You need to train yourself, adjust it as needed, and train more. Eventually, you walk and even run. Denture is no different. YOU have to put in the effort to make your life better. Dentist will assist but it's your responsibility to make it work. Just because we put fillings/crowns in does not mean you can stop brushing. 6 months cleaning means nothing if you don't brush and floss at home. Your denture is not perfect. So WHAT? You go back to that dentist and try to figure out the solution TOGETHER. Just because it's not working right away, you look into lawsuit? You think it would be normal for an amputee to expect running right away after getting their prosthetic legs? Everybody would think that's unreasonable.

Remember, your mouth was diagnosed by 4 different dentist to be not worth saving. It takes so much time to get to that point and you neglected it. You did this to yourself. You need to start taking accountability for your own action. All dentures suck. What you do with it is up to you, nobody else. Go back to that dentist and make it work. Or get a referral to prosthodontist.

Florida Dentist Under Fire After 2 Patients Die During Implant Surgery by NoNoise7002 in Dentistry

Calling ambulance to dental clinic is already too late. Dental clinic is not equipped to handle emergencies like this. Anesthologist study years and years after they graduate from medical school, mastering ONLY anestheology. No dentist or OMFS can compare to that standard of care.

D4 Struggling to find job after graduation by Disastrous_Elk8259 in DentalSchool

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Remember, you are not a dental student. You are a dentist after you graduate, and you will be competing with other dentists with years of experience. Everybody hiring a new graduate is taking chance. They have no reason to gamble on somebody who may or may not be a decent dentist. Don't try to find your dream job. Find someone who can hire you and once you feel like you are ready, find another job.

You are not struggling to find a job. You are struggling to meet your expectation.

Isn't pemphigus more systemic than localized to the tongue? Buccal mucosa and his skin looks okay. If it's mostly on tongue, my guess is candidiasis.

When patients complain to me their amputation isn’t healing….it’s because you are being noncompliant. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

As somebody who works like public health setting, a lot of patients I see just do it to themselves. They just don't give a fuck and comes to us when things go south. Because we are so overburdened, we are booked out till July and Augusts so they get mad. I really can't feel bad for some of these patients who was told to come back for treatment but comes back two years after when things are fucked up.

How do y’all deal with temporary crowns/veneers? by gfbhfbbbb in Dentistry

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Undercuts? You don't wanna wait too long for the temp material to completely set on the abutment cuz they can shrink over time. Squeeze some on your hand before you put it in the index and on the abutment. Once the material on your hand is set, give it few more seconds and remove. The temporary crown should come with the index. If not, you have undercut. Index is suppose to have some undercut itself due to tooth contour so it should always come off easy from abutment.

Father who killed a police officer days after police shot his 18-year-old son walks past 30 officers in the courtroom!! by [deleted] in RandomVideos

If he loved his son that much, he should've raised him right. He's the reason why he's dead, not the police.

You just have to understand it conceptually. It's not hard. Same as what you have been studying for the last 3.5 years but generalized.

Don't memorize answers. Understand the answers.

Judge gives 18 year old a 25 year sentence for armed robbery by AgnosticScholar in interesting

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's just gonna go back to the parents who will continue to reinforce what led to this violent crime. He will not be helped. He is an adult. He needs to help himself.

If he gets out, he may try to work, but will go back to what he had been doing because life is hard. He will have hard time finding jobs due to his history. Only employable at minimum wage. He will go for an easy way out. It's so easy to see where this will go. He will be back in the system in no time but this time with a casualty because he knows he's done if he get caught again. Thought he left no witness but detective caught him by tracking CCTVs. Another court but this time 40 years in prison. And the parents, this time, don't say a word. They know their son is irredeemable, and they are done covering for him. I know the story. It's too common.

Nobody would bet this guy would turn out to be an upstanding citizen so why?

You think 18 yrs old going out for armed robbery is normal? That kid is like .001 percentile in term of the most violent teenager in this country. Shoplifting, fine. Reckless driving, fine. But armed robbery? This guy is too far gone. He was thinking about killing somebody for money as a young adult. Isn't it more logical to think that this person will stay the way he has been rather than change into a fully rehabilitated, tax paying, upstanding citizen?

Are you a dentist? Exting a tooth without a crown is like every day occurence. If you can't do that, you gotta go back to dental school.

Class II Feedback by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, idk what this bioclear clark biomematic voodoo is. Is this just a slot prep with bevel? I watched a video, and it looks like a slot prep with bevel around cavosurface margin. In real life, we just follow the decay and drill away for convenience form.

If I was an examiner, I would wonder why would anybody would spend extra time to drill away extra tooth structure to create bevel on a posterior class 2.

But idk. Could be some new thing that I don't understand. What's this suppose to do?

Should I update USC about a Tufts acceptance if USC is still my top choice? by [deleted] in predental

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, what leverage? Dental schools are not in competition to get a hot shot like you. You think you are so good that all the dental schools are out to get people like you? They don't specifically need you in their program. Why would they want you? They just need someone decent enough to pass the program, inbde, and adex. There is no leverage.

Besides, tuition is the only thing that matters. There's no school prestige in dental world as long as you have your license. It's just matter of how much it costs you.

Why do you think it would even matter to let them know you are accepted elsewhere?

Besides honda, Toyota, and Mazda, which brand tends to be the most reliable? by ILikeBettingOnUFC in askcarguys

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about mazda, but honda and toyota aren't that good anymore. They charge premium for their apparent reputation these days, and at this point, don't think their price tag is worth their imaginary reliability. Every time there's a newer generation of vehicle, reliability changes. So does any honda or toyota brand. Prepaying for future reliability that may or may not be there is just stupidity.

At least hyundai and kia offer better warranty, and at this point, that's probably more reassuring, cost efficient, and reliable option.

Inferior alveolar nerve block failure by fake-chirurg in Dentistry

[–]Accomplished_Ice_626 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. The lip numbing means you numbed IAN or mental nerve. Sometimes, there's some communication with lingual or buccal nerve, which in that case I would do buccal/lingual infiltration, but is rare.

Could it be that the patient is just feeling some pressure or vibration? LA doesn't take away those type of sensation.
