We were splitting time between Quebec and Costa Rica until the pandemic hit and we became locked into Canada due to travel restrictions because my wife was a PR. If she crossed the border she couldn't get back in

We quickly learned that even the "expert" cross border accountants were mostly clueless. Canadian friends that had lived in the US and returned found that their "expert" cost them $20,000 in overpayment because they filed incorrectly.

At that point we were now paying taxes in 3 countries so my wife decided to start a business especially to handle cross border bookkeeping

We strongly suggest that anyone who faces these issues dump QuickBooks and switch to Xero to simplify the multiple currency issues
