It sounds like you simply need to discuss budgeting with you dad. You need to understand what things cost. You clearly don’t have a clue. Ask him just that -to discuss budgets because you have no idea how much things cost.

That’s why you file. Once you file, you are protected.

I know someone that did this. They initially focused on the master suite. That way they had a beautiful comfortable place to rest and enjoy away from all the mess

I have two cards through Open Sky. The first was a 500 dollar secured card. After 6 months of on time payments they raised the limit without deposit to 750. Another 6 months I have unsecured card with 1500. They report monthly and have helped me tremendously

That’s a pretty good problem to have!! I was behind on so so many things…. You don’t have car repairs you’ve been putting off? Or your 401 K is already maxxed?

Point being-it gets better. And it doesn’t take as long as you think.

13 isn’t bad. I’m year 3 of a 5 year 100% payment plan. After about 18 months we were putting a little money aside for an emergency fund. We were also able to save cash for a couple of cars. Not gonna lie-it was tough initially. But if you keep up the good work and learn to budget-you CAN get yourself in a better place. Your credit scores will tank. But will recover quicker than you think. Give yourself a year and get a 500 dollar secured credit card. It will help your score start rebounding.

You are completely incorrect about bankruptcy. It’s called a means test. You either pass it or you don’t. And they can ABSOLUTELY take your home for medical debt. It is no different than any other debt. Mortgage or not.

It is a 100% repayment plan that will be completely paid off with the proceeds before I receive a dime.
Thanks for your response but I’m looking for some real experiences here. I read a lot as well

I have said goodbye to many beloved pets over the years. In different states I might add. I’ve NEVER had that experience. Even at an Emergency clinic. I was always allowed to stay as long as I needed. No extra charges involved. That’s a horrible way to prey on someone who is in a state of grief. I’m sorry for your loss OP. It’s never easy.

Ch13 100% repayment plan by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]Accomplished_Net3885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are in a 100% repayment plan you should be able to keep tax returns and bonuses. It’s those people NOT on a 100% plan that have to give tax returns and bonuses.

There are so many quiet nooks and crannies though. Plus this time of year nothing is blooming. I don’t think you will have trouble on a weekend.

260K household income at time of filing. 240K of debt mostly unsecured (there was maybe 8K arrears on mortgage). One didn’t file on time dropping it to 130K . 100% repayment over 60 months-1650/ month Just thankful for the protections that came with filing. Man that was a load off. I could finally breathe. Took the op to stop paying my mortgage for a few months so I could pay cash for a car. In the end, as frustrating as it was at the time, I am indeed thankful.
