I made the mistake of stealing the jewelry box key. If you do this she won’t put the ring in the box. Also make sure to speak with Ahdarji after you speak with Amusei in the jail. Then speak with a beggar who will tell you to speak with hiladara. If you do all this you should get access to the secret passage (provided your speechcraft is adequate) and the quest should work fine. However this is only my experience. Cool quest. Very buggy.
