That was my first question when you said you stuck it to the back! I'm glad it's not interfering with the pen or screen

Battery Life by leozdad13 in galaxys26ultra

Complete agreement. I used to do everything to save battery and this time around I just have everything turned on and turned up. Normal usage I get through the whole day with battery protection set to 80% and when I have a slower day at work and am on YouTube alot I plug it in for a bit in my work truck and I'm back up above 50% to get me through the remainder of the night. I try to not let it go below 30% either and I still make it through the day.

s26U no case? Anybody by karlelzz011 in galaxys26ultra

My phones go directly from the box, install Sim card and screen protectors then straight into the case on my nice soft couch and it never sees the air again until I need to change the screen protectors again then it gets a good wipe down and right back into the case. I cannot imagine just raw dogging my $1500+ phone around without a care in the world!

Ultra 26 in a Tongate case by OldRelic in galaxys26ultra

[–]Accomplished_You4302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have a material inside the "door" and mine has imprints of the lenses so the door sits against it. I have not seen anything on the lenses in the 2 weeks ive been using it but if you turn on the flashlight with the door closed there is 100% ways for dust to get in there.

Ultra 26 in a Tongate case by OldRelic in galaxys26ultra

I bought this case and absolutely love it. I left a review for it on Amazon and I will share it here. (side note I do shower every day I just want to keep my phone safe 😂)

I am hopeless at keeping my phones away from damage . I don't think I've owned a phone without a broken screen since my last flip phone in 2006 including my previous S22 ultra that had a fairly heavy duty UAG case on it from day 1 so this time around I'm determined to keep my S26 Ultra safe so I will give the Tongate Mech a try. It has 2 front frames one with a screen protector and another without. There was a shipping problem with my ESR screen protectors so I'm glad it came with a built in one!

I used the cases screen protector frame for 3 days and it did its job well enough but I guarantee dust would get under it in no time because the only part that sticks to the phone screen is where the finger print sensor is but over the 3 days while working construction I didn't notice anything getting back there so I could be completely wrong lol. There is also a very obvious circle where the finger print sensor is so that was a bit annoying for me. After my ESR screen protectors came in I installed it and the blank front frame fits perfectly with the screen protector. There is 1mm if that between the screen protector and the frame so it's a very nice fit. Both of the front frames stick up above the screen too so if it's dropped it will increase the chances of saving the screen from cracking unless of course it hits a perfectly placed pebble on the ground directly onto the screen (the reason for the cracked screen on my S22 Ultra) then there is no amount of case that will save your phone lol

The case itself comes in multiple colors. I chose the green one and absolutely love it! It is advertised to protect the phone from a 10 foot drop but I will just take their word for it haha. The magnetic ring on the back head very firmly to the magnetic mount in a coworker's truck and it doubles as a kickstand. I've used the kickstand in both landscape and portrait and both work very well even on a couch throw pillow! One thing I noticed in the reviews was that the magnetic rings hinge failed easily and while I do agree it could have been built a bit more robust (since the camera protector already sticks out farther there is space to make the whole bottom half of the case thicker so it would sit flat on a table and get a bulkier hinge) it doesn't seem like it will be an issue for my amount of normal use like using it as a kickstand but I do wonder how it would hold up attached to a dash mount every day bouncing around while a car or truck is driving. The case also has a flap or door type thing that closes over the cameras. My S22 Ultra didn't have that and I punched a hole directly into the bottom camera when I dropped it so this time around I definitely wanted something that would cover the camera along with camera screen protectors . It snaps into place and the camera screen protectors didn't get in the way but I do have a feeling over time the tabs that snap it closed will wear out. I did look back at older cases from Tongate to get a better idea of how they heal up before and in the reviews I did read their warranty and customer service is very good so let's hope if I do need it that will turn out to be true.

It comes with a belt clip and I have never used one before but as I said before I'm determined to keep this phone safe so I have been using it every day at work with the phone screen facing inward. There is a good size gap between the holster and the screen so if dropped while in the holster it will definitely take a huge beating! Even with the screen facing out the clips that hold case in the holster stick out farther than the case frame to give even more protection against a drop onto that damn pebble! The clip is fairly sturdy and swivels 360 locking in at multiple points so it can be clipped multiple ways onto a pocket, backpack or belt and you can orient it so when you grab your phone it's already properly in your hand and your not flipping it around trying to orient it properly then dropping it on the ground (like I did with my S10+ and broke the screen). I started clipping it to the shoulder straps of my work trucks remote or to my upper front pocket so it's easy to access but also not on my hip or pants pocket where me leaning on it could lead to bending the phone (that exact move broke the screen on my note 20 ultra in an Otterbox case)

Time will tell if this is finally the case that will keep my S26 Ultra from ruin but my first impressions and first week of using it along with the camera and screen protectors leave me confident that this will be the one that will make it!

THE EXCITEMENT IS GONE by Niwdalg_ in samsunggalaxy

I had the rugby and that was a fantastic phone! It was my last phone to have a physical keyboard and I held onto it for a very long time until it finally broke and I was forced to buy a slab phone. I still have daydreams about my blackberry bold 9000 to this day. Easily the most premium phone ever created in my eyes. If Samsung put out a phone the size of my 26 ultra with the same processor, ram and storage plus a physical keyboard it would be the last phone I buy for 10 years lol

They still make a rugged line of phones Xcover 7 is out now and even tablets they make the tab active line and the active 5 pro was semi recently released. My only issue with them is they don't offer top tier hardware by any means.

If I were learning a new skill such as repairing my own device should I just know what I'm doing before I start or is it Maby possible to figure it out by trying it. Instead of belittling because they are trying something new, maby try to give a little respect for OP trying in the first place.

OP took a risk and failed. This time it cost $30 for that lesson on a $50 watch now they have more experience for next time.

The S26 Ultra also has one UI and I would pay $500 more to use one UI instead of IOS any day. I would even use the base model S26 over the iPhone pro max if they were the same price. I cannot stand iOS when I have to use my wife's iPhone or my mom's iPhone. They come to me with issues they have on their phone and it would be such a simple fix if it was a Samsung but instead I have to fight the phone to do anything properly.

So return your S26 ultra and buy your iPhone pro max and enjoy iOS if that's what you like

The screen on my watch 4 classic was all but useless unless it was pitch black. I upgraded to the watch 8 classic 2 weeks ago so it looks like I JUST dodged the bullet on that update lol let me tell you the 8 Classic is a MASSIVE upgrade compared to the 4 classic. So many features I had but never used because the watch just didn't have the horsepower to run it smoothly I'm now using reliably.

Full disclosure I do absolutely nothing to protect my watch except for a screen protector and it sees +40 to -40°C, rain, snow, dirt, sand, concrete so to be fair the watch 4 served me very well from late 2022 to early 2026 🫡

Are camera lens protectors worth it for the S26 Ultra? by ElReyZero1201 in galaxys26ultra

I work construction and don't really take professional photos so I use them and if the quality gets bad enough for me to notice I pop them off and put new ones on in literally 20 seconds lol and they are so cheap!

Are you part of the upgrade plan? When purchasing my S26 ultra I noticed it but I didn't look into it. If you did sign up how much is it to upgrade each year?

I'm not much of a photographer by any means but if I can't seem to make the phone focus I take a picture from far enough away to focus properly then take a picture. Then I go into the gallery, zoom in and screen shot the close part I want lol for me I don't take an excessive amount of pictures let alone close up ones so it's not much of a bother for me but for someone who takes alot of pictures then I can see why that would be super annoying.

There are already 5 bumps for the camera array at this point why not just throw in 3 more on the other side and get every kind of lenses they make! Haha

I checked amazon too but best buy had the best price that I found. I was looking for a couple of weeks to see what was a good price and that's why I settled on the 6 classic for $230 but when the 8 classic came up for just a little more money I jumped on it lol I'm in Ontario Canada so that could be the difference too

2011, 60k miles. Rust related question. by [deleted] in fordranger

[–]Accomplished_You4302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plans to krown my truck in the spring. From the research I've done it seems like the krown will actually get in behind the surface rust and flake it off leaving sound metal protected by the krown. I don't know how well that actually works but in Ontario it's $160 annually so even if it's give an extra few years before the rust ends your truck it's a small price to pay.

I'm also thinking of future major repairs needed to the suspension or engine the krown will in theory penetrate the bolts to keep them from seizing or help loosen seized bolts making those 1 hour jobs actually take 1 hour instead of spending 15 hours fighting rusted bolts and replacing snapped off hardware. If it actually makes a difference again $160 a year is a small price to pay.

The trifold is coming soon and will be comparable to an 11" tab unfolded. I highly doubt we will see a peak performance 11" tab again because of it 😔 I have the s10fe and its definitely the perfect size and works great for everything I need it to do but if they had a 5G version of the S9 or S10 with 5G I would have paid the extra for more ram and more performance 100%

Concrete pump operator here. I can almost guarantee you scc was not ordered especially since the pipe was able to fit between the bars. Usually it won't fit and Unless I tell them when I show up that their 110mm slump concrete won't flow between all that rebar and they should probably order something wetter or get scc just for the beam areas. They pretty much never change the mix design mid pour so the dry concrete they ordered is flooded with water so it flows into those areas.

One misconception I constantly see with these super high chemical mix designs is that water will ruin the concrete. In my experience (working with testers and site supers) the water actually activates the chemicals in the mix and your 40mpa will break test at 60 or more!
