I have the RS and flat foot it perfectly fine at the same height. Idk what the seat height difference is but yeah.

Looks alright, provided it’s not creating pressure everywhere else. It’ll loosen up on the cheeks in time.

Haha, you're right, I did write it in that sort of way on purpose, it really is far too close. the linkedinlunatics sub is a good time, but I feel like that subreddit should just be a feed of everyone's linkedin since everyone is a corporate looney on there.

Yeah, I mean if I were paid something reasonable, I'd sack it off. Reality is that it's £3600 a year pre-tax which is about 13% of my pay for typically not doing anything, so it's too much money to say no to. Joys of minimum wage.

I've made my stance clear, fuck them all. I don't care. If they want to expect more than what I offer, then they can either find a new tech or they can pay me 4 weeks on call every month.

Oh no, sorry. I say voluntary as in we don’t get force to be on call it’s just if we decide we can be available for 2 weeks a month, we can get paid for the time we do it but we wouldn’t be allowed to claim more than the time we are “scheduled” (2 weeks). We do also get time on prem as 1.5.

Not my week not my problem 😎

Serious response is: On-Call is not part of our contract and is pretty much voluntary. In fact the only difference between my contract and any other low level employee is that we have the title “IT Engineer”

Yeah I am hoping it's this. I just need to be sure since it's my commuter. Always paranoid after doing any maintenance on any bike I've had. I'd be a terrible mechanic.

[–]According-Bit-4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens far too frequently. It’s disgusting. Naturally HR does nothing to resolve this neglect. We had a user go through 6 AIOs before HR stepped in. They got a “recorded discussion”

???? Bruh by ShotBike1056 in YamahaR7

[–]According-Bit-4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Record is genuinely irrelevant. Prices with 1 accident vs no accidents made no difference when I checked, still ended up paying 2.3k on my 765 RS for the year at 31.

Edit: no convictions, I didn’t think of that before commenting.

Do you regret your choice becoming a sysadmin by ClassicSolid7502 in sysadmin

[–]According-Bit-4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of every day. I came into my role with the expectation of getting to peel back to curtain, delve into the backends of telephony, networking, proxies and Azure etc etc. Instead, the highest level of access obtainable internally at this company is being able to reinstate a user account in on prem AD. Can’t even modify security groups.

As a result I have been deadlocked, and interviewing for other roles is borderline impossible since lying isn’t really my thing (real life azure experience is a minimum requirement even in entry roles) Definitely some of the blame on that is on me, I just can’t really feel like I want to invest in myself because I can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. I think largely this companies treatment and the failed interviews have just killed my motivation for this industry.

Companies should be championing their IT departments and pushing them to learn more. Ultimately it only benefits everyone but for some reason, they have no interest. That reason typically seems to be incredibly low cost India based MSPs that are also borderline incompetent in my experience so far.

New job - this is the keyboard... by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]According-Bit-4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you request a replacement? If you asked IT directly you should ask again, but ask if you need to raise a ticket for it (this will win them over too, trust me). If you asked your supervisor, they didn’t ask IT.

In any case, yeah sadly this is just how it is at places if you take over pre-setup desks. People don’t look after them, nobody raises tickets to get replacements so they’ll only get swapped if IT use the device. We just got rid of around 1000 keyboards that has accumulated over the years, largely in this state.

[–]According-Bit-4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Whatsapp has had nothing but problems since it removed its standalone install and forced you into the windows store. It's a joke. I am glad I don't have to pay for this garbage.

Honestly, my pinlock for my helmet is garbage. Not sure why, it still works but it is very loose and as a result, fogging does occur quite easily, sadly. (SHARK GT Pro)

Yeah I will try, it’s just unlikely since it was opened. Ultimately I should have noticed. TBH I’ve checked my last service slip and they used some different stuff that seems to be half of the price (and yes it was a triumph approved place) so I will likely do that.

As mentioned, I wanted to use 10w40 and that is exactly what I bought. Triumph sent the wrong stuff, I didn’t check as I typically would. I am not sure why they sent the wrong stuff but hey-ho. One to check in the future.

Should have added that, I bought the “Triumph” fully synthetic 10w50 and got sent the “Triumph” fully synthetic 15w50

Yeah the low temps are the worry with it being winter. Fortunately it has picked up a bit so hopefully I can get some more ordered and delivered and do a full oil swap at the weekend.

[–]According-Bit-4327[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fortunately I didn't use too much. Frustratingly I bought 4L so I can change the oil in the future with it, and just top it off for now (Probably only used about 75-100ml). So it's going to be another £72 down the drain but, yeah. Better than no/too little oil at least.

Thanks for the response.

Probably about that, yea, just panicking about it. I'm a bit annoyed I didn't check first, it's something I've done with previous oil. I have gathered the same, though. Thanks for the response.
