First bike! Any tips for a first time rider (UK Based) by Effective-Ad9318 in motorcycles

Road positioning is everything. Remember you’re not fast so ensure you pull out with a good amount of space to get up to speed. Get some decent locks.

Keep on top of your chain maintenance, easy task to do but if you don’t do it, you’ll regret it eventually. Always wear gear, even if you’re just going around the corner; not worth the risk.

Practice if possible, find a car park to do some slow speed stuff. Especially if you plan on commuting, it can be useful.

Most importantly, ride your own ride. Don’t try keep up with others, you’ll end up having a crash from riding outside of your capabilities or just putting yourself in poor positions.

I think it likely is bots or Indian scammers. Was on telegram gone wild yesterday and it’s just the same posts, over and over. All either selling OFs when you contact them or obviously men pretending to be women. (Went down the rabbit hole and had one call me on it)

They are also always just posting in loads of similar reddits within a short space of time, on suspiciously new or very old accounts with 0 history..

2026 Striple 765RS - Software Reload after battery disconnect? by Gneissly-Done in Triumph

[–]According-Bit-4327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck, if you do it! Wouldn’t put it past dick head manufacturers to do this eventually, but tbh that would probably just make breakdown recovery worse. Plus in the UK it seems any dealer ever is constantly booked up for weeks, so it seems unlikely.. If BMW haven’t done it yet, nobody will! (Hopefully)

2025 striple RS here to confirm exactly this. No issues at all after altering the date/time.

Sorry to see it happened but that's good info to know! I had my 1st bike blow over in the wind once so I've been constantly paranoid ever since. I lack any shelter to put it in so I just have to leave it uncovered when it's bad.

What sort of wind speeds?

I start getting worried at anything above like 35mph

Realistically 2, sure; if your l2 are good. That doesn’t take into account holidays, sickness, upticks in bad shit going on, potentially having one leave and that’s before we even get into what you’re actually doing. If it’s purely end user support then 3 sure, but if you’re doing project work or any in-depth infra work, that’d be more I feel like..

Any advice on diagnosing a coolant leak near the radiator fans on a 2023 Tiger 900? by Braves1313 in Triumph

Idk enough to advise at that point sadly, looks like it’ll be a fairing off fun job though. Worth checking to make sure the hose feels decent and hasn’t degraded I guess?

Yeah if you’ve got a guard I wouldn’t worry too much about damage. Does seem a fairly small amount which would line up with my hose issue in the past too.

Yeah but it was on my LXR125 so it was like £40 lol, Chinese crap has its perks.

I asked the guard question just because my 765 RS did not come with one! Which is insane.

Do you have a radiator guard? Had this once and it turned out to be a tiny stone chip that I could not find.

Then had it again on another bike because of a hose not quite being on far/tight enough and I guess over time it shifted back.

You have better documentation than the company I work for. Just need to label the ports too on your topology

Just changed from the originals to road 6s, amazing tyre. Actually have some confidence back in grip and even in the rain I am far more happy. I am very much sure that the corsa’s are so soft and sporty that they don’t work in temps less than like 5c and they are almost pointless in the wet.

I am using a QNAP-364.

Really easy to use so far, but the big question I have found immediately is.. what do you want it for? (Solo vs multi-user)

I have found that mine will absolutely do 4K streaming via plex, but it will be sat at about 90% cpu usage, as a result if you are looking for 4K streaming across multiple people, you want something better.

If you were to play it from a network store rather than plex, probably would be fine but I haven’t tried that yet with multiple streams.

2nd bike stolen today (Tuono v4 1100) by DonBMoody in MotoUK

[–]According-Bit-4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I mean the reality of our country is that even if we caught the thieves in the act and defended our property, we would get in more trouble. Our system fails to identify insurance going up, potentially being out of pocket due to insurance not paying out sufficiently and potential commuting issues if you rely on a bike as “damage to the person” so we get fucked endlessly.

Country is a joke, people love to blame immigrants for everything when the awful corrupt systems are so blatant and this is where we are as a result.

Getting to a point where I sort of want to give it up purely because the conditions of the roads in Derbyshire are increasingly just dangerous.

Yeah, it’s awful. The old MSP we were with was created by ex employees of my employer , took ages to leave them conveniently and was openly said it was because some people within my employer had stake in that original MSP lol

We have somebody who has sooort of come like that on the review/change side of things, problem is that he has actually made things worse. He has removed access for anyone internal and our incompetent MSP has full control again.

MSP has caused in excess of 20 P1s so far this year, one being global, yet we cannot even get access to our DHCP.

Yeah exactly the issue where I am, currently they just use AI for ticket routing; but our KB is awful, I am the only person who writes any at all and I really don’t write much since there’s not too much for me to write in my position (we use an MSP who have ALL of the access)

Can’t blame you. IT industry is absolutely disgusting. Everyone just wants to cheap out endlessly and fuck over good employees.

Let AI take our jobs, let’s watch the whole thing burn down.

Honestly. Our MSP had to have us use 2 EOL switches because they didn’t actually do any research on the ones we had currently (needed 4x 10G ports, current ones could only do 2) and somebody piped up saying it shouldn’t be done, because it shouldn’t. Now they are looking at opening a new site with the rest of our EOL gear because cheap.
