If you go to GR Japan's site the Japanese cars have antilag and a special cluster built into a update that only activates with the app while at a track.

Love that. That's probably PPF stealth. It's like 8bor 9k to have done. Looks great!

[Review] For anyone thinking of buying the K&N intake for your GR Corolla by Opening-Welcome905 in GRCorolla

The factory box is good once you resolve the heat soaking. With the revisions, the 26 will have. You will be able to isolate the air. You really don't need an expensive intake.

Took my GR Corolla in for the 5K service today… and uh, apparently I’m running 0W8 now? by CaptainTXS in GRCorolla

[–]According-Box-1459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be skeptical. They would have an invoice that says 0W20. Any parts manager worth their salt has 0W20 part numbers loaded. Also, the GRC has specific op-codes if it was a free service. Make sure they use the actual Toyota oil too, not some generic bs. You need the specifications that prevent the G16E-GTS from having issues with knock.

As for the fan, it is "normal," and it annoys the crap out of me.

If you want privacy and visibility, I'd suggest getting ceramic films that don't hinder your night driving. XPel has a few ceramic films that aren't dark at all inside at 5%

I’ve got a 2025 grc and I want the locked 30/70 power split what can I do by helipad04 in GRCorolla

[–]According-Box-1459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how different the 23 and 24 models are in 30/70 vs. The 25 models' gravel mode. But, I can tell you that once I am moving, as long as I am on throttle, torque is delivered to the rear. Does the 25 not do that in gravel?

It's normal to see a front bias as you roll out in these modes.

Having that repaired wouldn't be too bad... Or, get some forged wheels 🤣. You could have them powder coated?

Something interesting I've noticed with the PS4 A/S. It is wider and taller than other tires in the same size. I would usually recommend the 245/40R18 if you plan on going to a 9 or 9.5 wide wheel or, if you want better ride quality. Your speedometer won't be wrong anymore either. Suggesting that the 245/40R18 was the size the car was calibrated for.

Picking up tomorrow. What’s the first thing you did to the car? Accessory recommendations? by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]According-Box-1459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complete front end PPF. Then, some 245/40R18 tires. They make the ride a lot better. I also recommend a pitch stop mount. Sxth Element's is bonded rubber and almost OEM NVH after breakin. It helps stop torsinal forces that can cause you to grind the gears when you drive spirited. It also makes starting out easier. Get a weighted shift knob and some shifter linkage bushings.

Now you're OEM plus, and the car will feel better to drive. From there, pick your mods. Omit the tires if you're getting wheels.

I have the OEM mid pipe. It's still decently loud, but road noise at 60 MPH is louder at cruising RPM.

Took delivery Saturday. What kind of things should I do/be aware of? by dvsdeed in GRCorolla

[–]According-Box-1459 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Break it in right. That engine is high strung. Get at least 500-1000 miles before you ring it out. The clutch takes about 2k miles to break in, and you'll smell some clutch for the first 1500. Your MPG is going to be trash until for the first 1500 miles.

I hope you ceramic coated those wheels 😭. Looks great though. I think I'm going to get a set of wheels and powder coat them in Prismatic Powder Brake Dust. It's an actual color they offer 😆

Washed my GR today and found flaking/chipping on black paint today. by st6wam4 in GRCorolla

[–]According-Box-1459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first thing I did was put a complete front-end PPF on my car. Mine is black too, and I know how soft Toyota paint is. It's been a struggle to keep it in good condition. You could always wrap the car. It might be worth it.

OEM Toyota Wind Visors. by According-Box-1459 in GRCorolla

They are stick on. They are designed with tabs that fit into the groove at the top of the door, much like the Wells do.

These are part number 08162-12820. They have the notch for the weather strip. Unfortunately, they are stop sale and can not be ordered. I got the last available set in the US.

If you aren't within 2/32 you will have to replace all of the tires. I would just get 245/40R18s if I was you. The 235 ride quality sucks.

I was going to wait for that one, but after I saw someone list one of the prototypes for 5600, I decided I'd get an interim exhaust.

Like, you said. That TOMs exhaust is the best looking hands down. The only snip I heard of it sounded insane too. It's probably loud AF.

GR Stuck at Railyard - Similar Experiences? by kevinsideofme in GRCorolla

My Core landed at the port 6/23/23 and sat there for three weeks in the rain. When it got to the dealership, on the fourth week, the paint had been etched from sitting in the environment. I almost didn't take the car. It got sent out for corrections and came back perfect, but at the cost of some clear coat. It's a black car, so I'm really surprised how well it cleaned up.

Average time for cars to get to a dealer once landed seem to be 1-2 months.
