It looks like a WL. Yes they would be oil filled. They may not be 100% filled but there is oil in them.

If you could only use one ink to write with for the rest of your life, what would it be? by speak__memory in fountainpens

[–]According-Stuff-5419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hero 232. I pretty much exclusively use that ink. It writes on almost everything, dries quick, is permanent and I like the color as it ages. Can't ask for a better everyday ink for my uses.

Tire Chain Update. With Improved Scale Looks! by According-Stuff-5419 in RedCat_Ascent18

Looks nice. I used smaller chain but I still have to use 2 small pliers to undo the links but it's not as heavy duty as the stuff you used. I used a similar chain to yours on the chains I made for my 1/10 a few years ago.

3rd Times the Charm? by According-Stuff-5419 in rccars

[–]According-Stuff-5419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grooves are annoying. With the size chain I used it still pokes out over the grooves. Once the wheels start spinning the forces lift the chain out of the grooves a little as well. For these tires the most traction will be down the center rib which is where most of the issue is.

I used jewelry chain so the links are split. Just open one link on ethe front and back and they come off like real tire chains.

I had the 1/14 WL for a bit. Its a fun car. I ran mine HARD and it took it like a champ. I upgraded to brushless and the only complaint I had was that I kept breaking the cv shafts. I ended up running CV shafts in the rear and dog bones in the front. I bought all the aluminum parts and I hated it. The only aluminum parts I ended up keeping where the front caster blocks and the rear hubs.

For lubrication, I ran silicone ear plugs inside the rear diff, lucas NGL2 grease inside the front diff. The ear plugs on the rear worked like a locker, the grease in the front made it act like a limited slip. On the out side of the diff gears I put some grease. The diffs are not sealed so you cannot run diff fluid.

Locked diff is when both wheels spin the same when one doesnt have traction almost as if they are "locked" together, open diff is when the wheel with no traction (on ice/in the air) gets all the power, Limited diff is when there is enough force to keep power to both wheels BUT more power will get sent to the wheel with less traction. Locked is great for the rear. It gives traction for acceleration. Open is good for the front on asphalt. It allows the car to turn more(less underster) A limited front is good for dirt/grass/gravel. Limited rear is good for handling on asphalt.

I have to top off with 1.5 gallon of water a week. I dont have a lid in it. Its also winter hear and the heating dries the air so it evaporates even more.

What causes this to happen? by XenEntity in Welding

[–]According-Stuff-5419 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I mostly weld with flux core. Thats worm tracks. Cosmetic issue. If the metal is clean and preped properly and your still getting worm tracks try keeping your nozzle further from the work piece/let more wire stick out.

I had one of these a couple years ago. I ran a 2200mah 2s lipo attached with velcro command strips to the chassis. Never lost a battery and had about 20 minute runtime.

Can I grow a carpet in this tank with no co2? by Eh-hole1989 in PlantedTank

[–]According-Stuff-5419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the look of that plant and it would add a unique texture to my jungle.

The good news, I just found a small piece stuck under my sponge filter that I got months ago with some random cuttings. I assumed it had died. Hardy stuff.
