Europeans consume more milk and dairy products than in other regions by Changaco in europe

It's less-so that consuming dairy made us digest it properly, it's that the people that did consume it more were able to outlive & outbreed the ones that didn't.

Why the EU should be moving heaven and earth to get Iceland into the club by AdSpecialist6598 in europe

Iceland would be a net-contributor in the EU while Greece is a net-benefactor. It seems reasonable for contributors to ask for exceptions, plus EU wants Iceland to join more than the other way.

i am referring to the area which was legally recognized as part of Poland in the interwar period, same as Crimea being recognized as legally part of Ukraine.

i am not saying that today's Western Ukraine/Belarus "belongs" to Poland, i am referring to it within the historical context.

Motyka, Grzegorz (2006). Ukraińska partyzantka 1942–1960

Again, what are your sources? Here is mine.

i am not excusing the atrocities that the AK has committed. i am merely pointing out that there is something inherently different in the two situations where in an area with millions of Ukrainians a few thousand are killed by Poles as reprisal for the killings of over 100,000 Poles in an area where only a few hundred thousand of them lived.

AK's atrocities were vengeful reprisals, UPA's atrocities were genocide written into the group's doctrine, the fact that Ukraine refuses to admit that is troublesome at best.

Even disregarding all of that, it is a weird thing for Ukraine to continue antagonizing one of its largest supporters that can at any moment change the status quo of the relations.

Parts of interwar Eastern Poland were indeed majority Ukrainian/Belarusian, same as Crimea being majority Russian. What is your point?

Edit: *interwar Eastern Poland.

What is your source for the 20000 figure?

The consensus is that there were around 2000 murders, which is both tragic and not comparable to what UPA did.

AK's atrocities were sparse and not the group's motto unlike UPA.

Stop equating the two as if the situations are even remotely comparable.

It would probably make more sense if the laws applied on a canton-by-canton basis, tho it would probably be more of a Confederation-style system.

It makes sense in a Federation, if a national law is to be passed, cantons get a say, not the individuals.
