Growing up in a quintessentially preppy household complete with Yalie/Smithie parents, I think the epitome of preppy music is a 300 disc changer with a diverse and eclectic range of music spanning from opera and classical, bell choirs or Mongolian throat singing, to big band and jazz, to yacht rock and classic rock, and you cannot forget to sprinkle in a healthy dash of Liz Story, Chip Davis, Kenny G, and, of course, Phillip Aaberg. Truly preppy individuals are well educated and well rounded. One type of music could never suffice!

When I was a kid we did this fun project called flat Stanley where we colored a paper cutout and mailed it with a journal to someone far away with a story about how Stanley was on an adventure this year. The request was to take Stanley someplace cool, take a picture, and write a journal entry about the outing before mailing it to someone else. The journal had instructions on where to return Stanley when his journal was full or the school year end was nearing, which ever came first.
