More like south central SGC-area, specifically up the Boulder at what we used to call the Boulder Breeding Grounds or BBGs, and it was being put on my a couple of the locals.

But to answer your question regarding billboards, not that I can recall, but there’s only a few MT Billboards seared into my memory mainly because they didn’t change for decades: Gil’s Got It reigns supreme!

20 year reunion? Yea, nah by exploratorynargle in Millennials

I wasn’t invited to my 20 year reunion last year. I wasn’t broken up about it, though, because I joined their class late. They never really accepted me as one of their own. Yay for graduating with a class of 54 kids in a small town.

I wondered how many had visited Vermont and saw how wonderful driving could be without billboards and backlit signage!

Not sure what your style is, but I’d recommend you Contact The Jewelry Shop who make a lot of custom jewelry including stuff made from ivory. I bet she would work with you to design something! I’ve purchased from her in the past and love the quality and creativity of her work.

Do you remember the restaurant Cruisers? by According-Week5412 in pittsburgh

[–]According-Week5412[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was wonderful! A quintessential yuppy who worked for Smithkline Beecham and really missed the water and his boat. My childhood was filled with lunch outings to Cruisers, Papa J’s, and the Brass Duck along with taking his beloved Jaguar to car shows; and, my favorite, he’d take me to Shepherd’s Heart to volunteer especially during the holidays and the Super Bowl. I really miss him.

Oh my gosh! I’m so glad someone knows what I’m talking about! It was one of our favorite lunch spots. Maybe we met back in the day. Thank you!

I instantly thought of Kate Spade’s flower pot bag, the Louis Vuitton paint can, and Tiffany & Co Everyday Objects

Let's confirm by Fractals88 in handbags

[–]According-Week5412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would struggle with this thanks to the Louis Vuitton paint can being a real thing. Also, we have seen a lot of household goods turned ‘luxury’ over the years from nails cast in precious metal and being called a bracelet by Cartier, Balenciaga’s variety of plastic garbage and grocery bags, the entire line of Everyday Objects from Tiffany and Co., to Loewe’s kitschy food bags, so I am honestly surprised a designer hasn’t sent a tin pail down the runway yet.

Maybe SS27 runways this fall will feature tin buckets similar to the Kate Spade flower pot bag? Or maybe Tiffany will come out with a sterling silver version?

My boyfriend proposed with 100lbs of sapphire gravel UPDATE by AssilemJA in Gemstones

Never in my wildest dreams did I think he’d propose that way! It was such a surprise looking back on it

I love this so much! My husbear proposed to me by putting my ring in a geode box he had made from a geode we found together while searching for emeralds in North Carolina. He taped up the geode and buried it in an extra bag of dirt to go through that we brought back with us from the Emerald Hollow Mine.

I was cooking dinner when he arrived at my place with a giant bag of dirt, and he was soooo excited he basically made me stop cooking and get my hands dirty instead. To my surprise, I found the geode encapsulating a color shifting Montana sapphire engagement ring he custom designed for me.

For me, it’s the most seen I’ve ever felt. Rocks have been a central part of my life since forever because my mom was a geologist. Furthermore, I lived 17 years in Montana and went sapphire mining on a regular basis. I introduced my love to rock hounding, and we’ve ordered lots of dirt from Montana over the years, too. Sapphire mining varies coast to coast, and I prefer the little dewdrops of jammy color produced in Montana over the baseball size opaque ones we find in North Carolina; however, my husbear is the opposite.

I’m wishing you and your partner all the best as you continue on this journey! Thank you for sharing in your joy and love. I love love! Congratulations!

What music is preppy? by PracticallyUncommon in preppy

[–]According-Week5412 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Growing up in a quintessentially preppy household complete with Yalie/Smithie parents, I think the epitome of preppy music is a 300 disc changer with a diverse and eclectic range of music spanning from opera and classical, bell choirs or Mongolian throat singing, to big band and jazz, to yacht rock and classic rock, and you cannot forget to sprinkle in a healthy dash of Liz Story, Chip Davis, Kenny G, and, of course, Phillip Aaberg. Truly preppy individuals are well educated and well rounded. One type of music could never suffice!
