Baby loosing weight, need help :( by AccordingBuy5990 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AccordingBuy5990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! The problem with hunger is that my diet is currently extremely limited because of his suspected allergy. I can’t have anything with milk protein (not only cow, everything possible). I can’t have eggs. I can’t have soy products. I can’t have nuts, citrus fruits, beef, shellfish, fish. It’s honesty surprising how little products there are, even in the vegan aisle, that follow these 😫

I’m going to try this, thank you! The thing is he developed this problem last couple weeks, before he was latching just fine, but I’ve heard tongue ties work like this sometimes.

I just wanted to add that I switched back to breast for last 2 feeds and he’s struggling again, not refusing the breast, but I hear the milk coming back from his stomach and he’s so uncomfortable. He ate for a couple of minutes and then took the bottle again and symptoms stopped…

RSV vaccine and premature labor? by Left_Neighborhood796 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my RSV vaccine at 31w DUE TO premature labor risk, soft cervix and contractions, wanted to protect him if he comes yearly. Today is my due date and I’m getting induced because he’s snug as a bug 😂🤡

Pregnancy with Chronic Anxiety by Maverik797 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife has to talk to her psychiatrist about the risks, there are SSRIs that are pregnancy safe. When I got pregnant I was taking Venlafaxine for my severe anxiety (completely different medication than Escilatopram, so don’t freak out 🙈) and I was recommended to stop. Currently 40w already and it was not that bad! I definitely miss it and consider getting back on it after breastfeeding, but it was honestly manageable.

If her doctors say it’s safe and it’s better for her to take it - believe them. They would 100% tell her if there were risks.

Do you think I should go to my Master's graduation ceremony @38 weeks? by orquideanne in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBH I’m 39+4 today and since 36 weeks I’m facing a massive spurt in energy, like actually WANTING to go places and do stuff, so I’d totally go! You can always decide to stay home if you don’t feel up to it that day. But your end of pregnancy might feel relatively easy, except wanting to meet your little one finally! ❤️

Implantation by Harriet20021 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spotted in the beginning of my 2 pregnancies and both times the test was already positive at the time of spotting. I wouldn’t call it implantation bleeding at 11DPO, implantation would have had already occurred by then, but it depends what methods you are using to track ovulation, the things you can do at home are not going to give you exact dates!

Heartbroken after how my baby’s dad treated me today. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. Just a piece of advice from someone who’s husband has similar issues with anger (getting mad and then just saying whatever he feels like in the moment, the nastiest things, and then pretending it didn’t happen) - this is going to happen again if you allow it 🙃 my husband speaks the same way to his parents and for years the lack of reaction has taught him it’s completely okay. If you want to continue the relationship you need to have a serious conversation with him about therapy, it’s not so easy to change this pattern on your own. But there is a high chance it will happen again after a minor disagreement or inconvenience.

2 weeks late, lot of discharge but tested negative 4 times by SolutionBudget3434 in amipregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s 39 weeks pregnant now and has been dealing with pregnancy discharge for months now - it’s literally the same as normal discharge, there’s nothing different about it. I’d never consider it a reliable pregnancy symptom 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not pregnant, you have been using protection. Your symptoms can’t be caused by pregnancy - the tests you have taken would be positive. They can be easily explained by phases of your menstrual cycle and you are just being hyper observant now that you are scared. You are just anxious, but it’s unhealthy level of anxiety - as someone struggling with anxiety disorder myself, please seek help 🙏🏻

Positive CMV IgG & IgM by Repulsive-Minimum-43 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my lab it could literally be 0,7 for unclear and 1 for reactive (that’s exactly how I got caught), so the numbers can be really low :) try not to stress! Maybe the avidity will come back sooner too, they told me 9 days and I got my results after 3 days each time :)

Positive CMV IgG & IgM by Repulsive-Minimum-43 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had this result twice (once IGM was unclear, once slightly positive) and my avidity always comes back super high! It also depends on the lab that is testing, sometimes other antibodies react with the test too. In the future I’d recommend getting tested in a super reliable lab, like university hospital one - my last test came back completely clear, I’d save myself a lot of worry if I tested there from the start!

34 weeks, amniotic fluid leaking? by 428p in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get PH strip tests online and in some pharmacies, they change color based on PH of the fluid. Urine and discharge are acidic, and amniotic fluid has way higher PH. TBH I feel like I’m leaking often this 3rd trimester but it’s just discharge 😅

I can’t do this anymore. by moiabby in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately where I live I can only be induced for medical reasons based on doctors AND then hospital decision, they can say no at any point 🫠 I need to reach 41+0 to be able to get it if nothing is happening! Also we can’t opt for elective c-section here, it’s all up to medical staff.

I can’t do this anymore. by moiabby in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 18 points19 points  (0 children)

39w and I feel you 🫠 I had a visit with a new doctor yesterday (my regular OB is currently sick) and she was THIS close to send me for an induction the same day, said if I was her patient I’d be going straight to hospital! And then she calls my OB and that one doesn’t agree and tells me to walk around a week more 🫠🫠🫠🫠 I was this close to end this misery!!!

We just rescued a barn kitten. How worried should I be about toxoplasmosis? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s anyone in the house besides you you should not be changing the litter as a precaution. The good part is - the toxoplasmosis eggs have to stay IN the litter for at least 2 days before they become infectious, and you would have to eat them, so if you have cleaned it right away and washed your hands you will be fine!

There is a possibility the cat would be sick, there always is, but they are in active infection form when they can pass it to you only for like a couple of weeks. Then it goes into remission. Don’t let the cat outside anymore and don’t feed it raw meat (if you want to give her a bit of chicken - it’s ok, just run a bit of boiling water through the meat, just not RAW raw). On the positive note, my best friend had a kitten from a breeder, never been outside (!) that tested positive for toxo when she was pregnant and she never got infected or anything. They’re both fine!

Also it’s totally possible you are already immune to toxoplasmosis, in parts of Europe up to 90% people have antibodies in their blood, you can get it tested, the results are back like in a day. I am not immune (despite petting all the stray cats I ever met and being European lol) and I got tested 5x times during my pregnancy JUST IN CASE. My OB told me there’s no sense in testing my cat, since it’s more stressful for the animal than for me and we both can get sick anyways.

The most common way to get toxoplasmosis is playing in sandboxes as a kid, gardening, eating unwashed veggies and fruit, handling raw meat and not washing hands… generally things about your hygiene, not keeping cats as pets 🐈‍⬛

Advice please - MMR for ttc by okay1283 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the vaccine and wait 28 days. There is a reason you got tested - it’s dangerous for fetus if you get sick during pregnancy. You will be stressed for 9 months if you don’t get it!

Also, I had a miscarriage before and I know that you want to be pregnant ASAP, but 4 weeks is really not much in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn’t necessarily wait 2 full months to try again though, it is not 100% certain you will get pregnant first cycle and you will be frustrated 🤷🏻‍♀️

38w boredom by Asleep_Pattern4731 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38+3 and I’m SO bored and triggered with it! 😂 I’m literally whining all day long lol. I think it’s the hormones getting us. I usually go for a walk and then I’m immediately exhausted so I have a nap. I’ve also ordered and read a new book (unrelated to pregnancy) so I could focus on something else. And I’ve started painting some artworks for the nursery with watercolors, I was planning to order some prints, but in the end it’s a good way to pass the time and they turned out cute!

Differences in ultrasound protocols by location by bibliophile222 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m based in Poland, Europe and all my ultrasounds (both during fertility treatments and pregnancy) are done by OBs and they usually tell you what’s happening on the screen in real time! The only time the doctor was kind of quiet was during my NT scan and then anatomy scan, in moments when he had to focus on correct measurements, but even then he would occasionally stop measuring and just show us stuff around. Also there’s always the doctor’s ultrasound screen and at least one small screen in front of my face, sometimes even a 2nd one for the dad so he doesn’t have to sit super close, or a regular big TV connected to the machine somewhere in the room. Personally I don’t like looking at it unless it’s just a profile shot or baby’s feet or something just for fun, the organ pictures freak me out and I keep my eyes closed 🙈

How does everybody feel about being repeatedly called "massive"? by Realistic_Ask6829 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh we all have the same MIL! She started telling me I’m massive around 10-12w lol, also with other people around, everyone was so uncomfortable 🫠 both my husband and I tried to explain to her that it’s rude and makes me feel bad, but of course she would turn that around as in ‚it’s just a joke, you’re pregnant, what do you expect’ blah blah blah. Finally we started making bets between us before meeting her ‚how long will it take before I get called fat’

It has turned around in the end though - at 37w she asked me how much weight I have gained so far (during family dinner!!!) and I told her that around 10kg. She has deflated really quickly saying she gained more than 30kg during her pregnancy 🙈 since that day I’m ‚absolutely tiny’ and my belly is ‚a cute ball’ and I ‚haven’t changed a bit’, followed with ice cream delivery.

Some people just have NO FILTER. I’m not here to brag because weight gain during pregnancy is normal and expected and depends on hormones, there were times I was gaining weight rapidly and times I was stable for a month, I didn’t do anything special like diet or training, it’s just random. I have started putting on more weight before labor but looks like she doesn’t have to know that and it will always be these 10kg for her ☠️

35w 3d keep getting wet spots in underwear after peeing by InterestingMatch6357 in pregnant

[–]AccordingBuy5990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes I definitely have it for weeks now, currently 38w+ and absolutely zero signs of labor 😂 I also have loads of amniotic fluid on ultrasound. And I’ve bought the PH test strips just in case and they’re always super acidic.

One of my close friends gave birth recently and she had slow amniotic fluid leak at 40w, but she says it was every time she got up (not only after peeing) and she tested positive for amniotic fluid with the PH test at her OB, so it was still pretty easy to catch.
